Hi everyone. I've been a long time owner of Panther vehicles and a member of both CVN and CVU. I recently traded up in the world of Panthers to a '03 Marauder 300B and I had a few quick questions. The car has about 800 miles of warranty left. Is there anything I should have the dealer check out? Also everyone talks about paint issues. What exactly should I be looking for. One thing I noticed on this car are some chips and strange blemishes on the trunk lid, almost like acid damage. Is this similar to what others have experienced or is it mostly fisheyes. I may respray the trunklid if blemishes don't buff out. I have enough clear left from the Marquis to paint half a car. Why it doesn't come in pints I'll never understand.
Thanks again ... Ron

Mine has the very paint blemishes that you mention all over the upper surfaces. It goes in next week for a repaint of the hood, roof, and trunk.

I would have your dealership run the TSBs.. or ask here for them. There is one concerning the axle bearings I think.... I'd probably ask for that to be checked or complain about noises etc that fit that TSB description and get them to look at that.

Welcome to the Big House of news on anything you want to know---and speaking of knowing....looks like whoever had it before did a few things....namely, a spoiler and rear bumber inserts-----------so you may want to look around some more--they may have done a few other things to make your beauty be a bit more faster too!!!! Yahoo!! Good luck with your MM and let the smiles begin... ......Tom

I just scheduled a local lincoln dealer to look at the paint tomorrow. Any more details on the bearing issues. I drove it 600 miles down from NC and it seemed quite but mabey I'm not listening for the right noises.

First, welcome, this place is different then the CVN, that's for sure!!!

You might want to ask your dealer about the extended warranties available from Ford/ LM before your odometer trips out. If you have a mojor concern

First off...welcome!

Secondly...if you feel you have paint issues that need to be addressed under Warranty, be SURE you document them by starting the paperwork before the 3/36 Manufacturer's Warranty expires....as paint is NOT covered by any ESP, including Ford's.

Once again, welcome aboard!

MM,

Do you know where I can get one of those spoilers. I see the site for the stainless insertd but nothing about the spoilers. Their purchase site should be a sticky somewhere.

Was about to wax the car tonight when under the garage lights I noticed the paint blemishes are on the hoof and roof too. Some ares are so bad the paint is flaking off! Why only on the horizontal surfaces???

Welcome aboard. On the mechanical end, if you get along with the dealer, or another dealer (the mechanics and service writers) I'd take it in for a thorough inspection. It's worth $5-600 to find a problem, offer the money regardless if they find anything or not. Search around here, a few have had trouble with rear axles, transmissions, and little things. There is also some TSB's out on the car. Here's a site to check http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/tsb/ I know there was one for cracked control arm bushings. Probably not too much wrong with your car, but if you're concerned, have it checked.
