I went to visit my union local today about some insurance stuff and in the reserved parking area I spot a what looks like a MM,at first I thought I was mistaken as our union reps and officers all drive black GM's,looked again and it was a MM,it needed a bath real bad though. I went upstairs and took care of my business and asked if my rep was around, but he'd just left. I was gonna ask him if he knew who had the MM. A guy walked up to the door and unlocked it to go in so I asked him if he knew whose it was, turns out he's the Local's Sec'y/Treasurer and it's his company car. Union officials are allotted the price of a GM for a company car,he'd gone to the Chicago Auto Show, and caught a deal on it for the same price as a GM would've gone, after a test drive he took it. It's a 300A,and now has 6800 miles on it. I gave him our site address and told him all about us,maybe he'll drop in here. I also got "first dibs" on it when they sell it,it's not a lease, the local owns it. Oil changes are at every 3000 miles, brakes done every 30,000 miles, and all other maintainance at severe conditions intervals&all work is done by the dealer. Now I've got to wait 2 or 3 years for it to get 100,000 miles on it and I'll have a new "beater". No warranty worries then about mods.

LML,No worries, you'd have to see my current "beater",my XR-7 to understand.I jokingly refer to it as a beater as it's my everyday work car,but it is not allowed to deteriorate to where it actually is a beater. Serg't Mac,Wags, and Slowpoke have seen it and they can attest to that, as can the guys from Thunderbird Cougar Club of America. If it's dirty more than a day or two I can't stand it. I drive the snit out of it,I don't beat on it ,but I do get on it,drag race it,drive it come rain, shine or snow and still show it. The MM would be in good hands as my "beater",doing exactly as the "god of speed" intended.
