The first and probably only Crown Vic/Marquis based kit car you will ever see.

OMFG!

 .....Is that for real???

It looks like a big Transformer toy....either that, or a Pile of yellow LEGOS!

:puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke:

I can't believe that they have sold even ONE....

I think that the 'inventor' must have quit his job as a sheetmetal duct worker and stolen the company's metal brake!

To the man with only a sheet metal brake ... everything looks like ... a VW Thing body panel?

That is literally the worst automotive body I've ever seen.

Let's get this straight:
Spend 40 hours and $6000 to make a PI lose 700 lbs and morph into a vehicle that makes a Suzuki X-90 look like an automotive work of art?

Let's do some math:
3400lbs/210 hp = 16.2 lbs/hp
4100 lbs @ 16.2 lbs/hp = 253 hp
You could get that extra 40 hp with just a cold-air and a tune. . .and keep the $6700 and natural good looks of the PI. Are these guys on crack, or is this just a big practical joke?

You've got to go to their website and check it out!

There are several of these sheetmetal abortions!

The pictures are hysterical, except for the loss of a couple of poor CVs.

Go to "Contact Us" and look at the production facility.....YEP! Their main machine is: TA-DAH!!!...a metal brake!

Photoshop!!!

I only wish that it was a photoshop...but that thing actually exists.

That guy was toking on a BIG crack pipe when he conceived that kit car!

On the Compare (http://www.americanhotrod.com/home/KCInterceptor/comparespecs.htm) page, where they stack up their creation versus a Lamborghini, a Viper, etc., the Coefficient of Drag is conspicuous in its absence!

Now if the car had this interior it would be a hit with the urban crowd.

Quote from October 3rd of the build log...

We took the KCI outside for the first time today. It looks good even in the foamcore mockup stage. All the components are starting to melt together into a complete design.

I was gonna mention that - this kit would work on our cars. :)

So bascially I'm gonna beat you all to it - I'm gonna have "Trilogized Abomination #1"

Ordering now.... ;)

If Jerry reads your post he will send out a hit squad to eliminate you and to blow up Abomination #1!!

(Although you could EASILY win ANY burnout competiton with no weight over the rear wheels.)

Not sure how this beauty didnt make it into any of the hot rod magazines!

Seriously, I dont see how it could possibly pass state inspections. Cutting the roof, B pillars, rear rails, and rear body/floor out of the car would seriously comprimise safety, not to mention exposing the fuel tank in a rear end hit. This car is wrong on so many levels.

I'd rather drive a Daewoo....

Breadfan

And that's another good point. I looked at the pics under "Reviews" and during no time I saw in their "build up" did they reinforce anything. All they did was cut away sheetmetal and frame. Take the roof off, cut the rear frame, remove doors - this thing will fold in half if you hit a pothole much less have an accident.

Oh well I guess my plans for a Trilogy Marauder "Thing" will have to go away...the torque would bend it like a pretzel... :(

I agree - I can't see this being legal atleast in my state.

Kansas, the state of no vehicle inspections... did you notice the 30-day tag on it?

It doesnt even resemble bumblebee. Thats just plain awful. Looks like a 2 yr olds drawing of a car made into reality.

Geeez.... I feel bad for the poor cop who had the CVPI donor car as his well cared for, trusty steed for those original 140,000 miles. Bet he would not be too amused by what they turned it into (better fate than being made into a taxi maybe?).
Anyway, from some of the photo angles with the metal-brake, boxy style body motif, it sorta resembles a mordernized, jumbo version of a King Midget. :D

You've got to stop by to take a closer look at this 'creation'.

I want to know WHAT those retards are sniffing!

I still CANNOT believe that they actually think it is a good looking 'Hot Rod'....

I wish that I had known about the KCInterceptor kit before I wasted all my money on an ERA 427 Cobra kit!

My friend found the link to the site in one of his kit car mags, and see I drive a Marauder he told me about it.
I was thinking it was going to be a fiberglass bodykit that you would drop on top of the Crown Vic/Marquis frame (like they make for 55-57 chevy's or the batmobile), but boy was I wrong.
My friend thinks their tag line should be:
"For anyone who ever wanted to drive a filing cabinet or similar piece of office furniture."

So of course I had to share it with the rest of you.

Question: If someone in the club were to buy this kit and build one for himself, would be kick him out or just ridicule him?

The stock panther location, only now it is totally protected by a spare tire and a piece of flat sheet metal.

After much consideration, sweating and wringing of the hands, I have come to the following conclusion:

"I would rather drive a HONDA....than this wretched pile of sheetmetal!"

There!..... I said it!.....:o

Oh! I can't believe that I just said that!!!!......:alone:
