I have read some posts about some dealerships that seem to give owners the "shaft". Here is my story:
I have lived in this small town since 1979, have purchased 5 vehicles from Tipton Ford-Mercury, and cannot say anything but good about them. When I purchased my MM, they gave me 2 DVD promotional discs, the poster from the showroom, the car topper from the showroom, and a GREAT deal. Of course, the MM had been on the lot for about 9 mos, so I am sure they were happy about selling it. The dealership owner promised me that no more Marauders would be ordered from his dealership if I bought the one he had(at least in 03). That was the dealmaker, after all, one does want their ride to be distinctive. The dealer also gives me a loaner for ANY work I have done, whether it is just an oil change or something major(GOD forbid).
Thats my story, I could not be any more pleased with my dealer, I wish everyone could be as satisfied, and if all dealers were as good as mine, perhaps Mercury wouldn't be posting the poor sales numbers.

I wish I lived near you. Although I must admit other than my sales experience all other dealings I have had with Stu Evans Lincoln Mercury have been more than satisfactory.

I really feel that is the key to whole thing. Most dealers just do not understand the car. Mercurys fault not thiers. Now if I could just leep mine out of the body shop :alone:

mercman - Do you really beleive that dealer will not order another one if a customer walks in and request one? Sounds like he told you what you wanted to hear. IMHO.

My Mothers side of the family comes from Ellettsville, some of the nicest people come from Indiana and if his Dealer owner said that, he probly meant it, no hip waders needed down their. Glad to hear of some good Dealerships out their.

yep I do!! Call me nieve, but I have known this man for 20 yrs, so I have to trust his word:) Besides, we have a Delco plant and a Chrysler plant just over the county line, Ford is not too popular with the locals(no green slips) Allow me my fantasy LOL

I bought mine in March from Northtowne Lincoln Mercury here in Kansas City. They had about half dozen of them on the lot that had been there since October. They had to move a Blackwood to get mine out of the back lot.

The salesman drove off the lot like a bat out of....... We took an entrance ramp to the highway on 2 wheels I think. His goal was to show me exactly what that car would do. When I got behind the wheel, he said......"feel free to put your foot in it." I of course did.

So far they have been great to deal with. I had it back for a window tint, rattle in rear door, oil change, wiper adjustment and what I thought was bad paint on the hood. They had a loaded Sable waiting for me for a loaner. My salesman was in the service bay polishing my hood.

This is my first Ford product. I have only had Chevys and Oldsmobiles. So far it has been great. It's too bad the Marauders don't get more publicity. It's a great car and I got it at a great price. Another LM dealer here in town said $32K was the best they could do. I got mine for $24,188, before my trade.
I couldn't pass it up.

This is the way it should be. Like I said in another post it's all about forming positive relationships w/your dealer. Granted, a lot of dealers don't get Marauder owners as they have not had enthusiast autos since the Pantera. Despite this, we try to treat all our customers well. It's our future! I'm glad for you!
As for others having negative treatment from dealers, maybe they are too well fed. Go to a competitor!
