transmission filter

When I recieved my transmission pan from TCI part #890438000 it came with two gaskets two filters. One filter was wraped in thin gauge steel the other the one surounded in plastic. I said to myself what a piece of sh--. I called TCI they said that filter is oem didn't believe it. With the fluid reaching hi temps wouldn't the filter get soft or melt or collaps. Can we buy a better quality trans filter?

The Oem Filter Is Good.i Use Them All The Time On Trany Jobs.o Wait I Work At A Dealer I Have To Use Them.ive Never Seen Any Problems W/the Oems.

burt, you'd be surprised how many pieces inside the transmission are plastic. The OEM filter is not a POS.
