Something to think about...
In May of this year I bought the new Dodge Hemi 5.7L equipped pick-up truck.
Sold my '01 Dodge with the Cummins diesel. A great engine!!
This past Sunday I was storming along with the Hemi barking with much authority through my newly installed Flowmaster dual pipes when the MIL (malfunction indicator light) warning began flashing on the instrument panel 10 miles from no where!!
I kept driving to a "safe harbor" (my girl friends place), when the engine stalled and would not restart.
Luckily, she lives in the city where I bought the truck and Monday morning I had the truck transported to the Dodge dealer.
Today (Tuesday), the dealer is STILL working to resolve the problem requesting HELP from Chrysler Corp.
Here's the issue: this is a new engine for 2003.
The dealers 'wrenches' do not have enough experience with the new engine to know what the problem is, etc.
Meanwhile, I'm stranded 60 miles from home having to rely on my girl friends generosity (bed/board) while the dealer and manufacturer sort through the engine systems.
New models, new engines, etc. all carry a degree of risk to the 'new' owner, especially where not too many new models are sold. And........
I was feeling rather immune to such calamitys happening to me prior to this event.
The information exchanged on this website is priceless. I feel very confident that should my Marauder, being a new model, etc. experience a similar failure, I can hopefully assist the L/M dealer in resolving it through the information compiled here.
This website is beginning to make REAL sense to me now!!
