AHHHH guys....

I'm soooooo bummmmed...:o

Last night on my way home from work...I was called out by a car that I really could not identify at that moment...

Finally, it was a contender!!!...:banana:

In the past, it was always some import, G35, 350 Z, Beamers, and such, that I would just leave behind, with out even getting out of 2nd gear...Boring! Now, I don't even bother...

This one was different...It was definetly an '08 or '09 model...never seen it before...

I want to say the new Challenger, but 'am not sure...Maybe a '09 mustang???

It was definitely American, and new ('08 or '09 model)...It was a orangeish red color (factory)...The rear window area resmbled a fastback (mustang), and so did the tail lights... but the head lights seemed far part when I saw it coming up on me from the rear...It had no fog lights, or any other kind of lighting in the front...Just two round headlights that seemed to be farther apart than usual...

He came up on me fast...and hovered next to me @75 mph, then nosed ahead, and dropped back, then nosed up again and stayed there...about a half car ahead...

I was in the 2nd lane from the left...on a 4 lane freeway, with a truck in the (right) lane next to me (3rd lane from the left)...and he came up on the fast lane...

The problem was that I was coming up to my exit, and was contemplating whether I should speed up or slow down to get around the truck, on my right to exit...So this guy surprised me, a little...

But when I looked over, and saw it...I knew right away...Ahhhh man this is a contender...But is not the right time!!!:shake:...:bigcry:

Mind you, I would have easily passed my exit, just for the kicks...But it was raining moderately, which caused me to pass on the challenge...We all remember my 70 mph sideways adventure in the rain a few months ago...Don't want to do that again!!!

Anyway, since he was sitting there @ 75 mph, half a car ahead of me, and my exit coming up fast...I decided to speed up to get around the truck...

Well because it was raining, I just accelerated enough to get it drop into 3rd...and shot ahead of him and the truck...

This must of surprised him (I'm sure the rain concerned him as well), because he accelerated as I passed him, but not enough to catch me, as I sailed past moving to the right and took my exit...

I really wish it had been a better time to have some fun...:D

Any thoughts as to what car it was??? What car came with factory orangeish red paint???

Can someone post up pics of the new Challenger, Mustang and Camaro...I would be able to tell if I saw it again...

It was NICE!

Hopefully I will see him again, at a better time, so I can show him my rear bumper...:burnout::burnout::bu rnout:

Nope that is not the one, the tail lights are different...But the color is correct!!!

I think that perhaps he just did not have the fogs lit up...

I want to say probably was a Mustang...But the color of the Camaro and Challenger, is correct!!! And I don't think Mustangs came in that orangeish red color...

Any shots of the tail end of the Camaro?? I know they are not out yet, but just curious...

Do all the Chargers come with a wing??? Perhaps we got a winner here...But would swear it was 2 door, and no wing...Besides, I'm very familiar with the Chargers...and it did not appear to be one...

I think it would be safe to say...it was one of these, except the Camaro...

Yeah, saw another one, different color, but was the same type that came up on me the other night...

It was a mustang...shucks...just want to put a kill on the other guys...not another ford...

The color really threw me off...

Yeah G8s are rear wheeled, and as far as I know, Stang GTs have big fog lights on the grille. V-6 stangs have smaller fog lamps or nothign at all, and the shelby gt/gt500 has no fog lights on the grille. So you most likely saw a shelby gt/gt500.

Sounds like Local Boy figured out it was a Mustang, but GM has quite a few test mule Camaros on the streets - probably mostly up in Michigan, but they're out there...

They've put a lot of money/time into retooling the plant (about 20-miles from me), to not build it. GM has A LOT riding on this car... This is the first car from the general to generate this much interest in a LONG time. They've poured money and technology into it, and quite frankly, need the Camaro to be successful. I don't doubt for a second they will be on the showroom floors (and hopefully one will wind up in my garage). ;)
