Well after many months of waiting the GM is about ready to roll again. The pictures will be posted later today in this thread. They still have a few more things to do to wrap it up and I should be able to pick it up next week.
I will start in the rear as we changed the rear end and put a Eaton Carbon Fiber posi in it with 4.30 gears. We had Moser build 31 spline axles for it also. The tranny has been gone thru again and updated with many new parts and extra clutch packs in it.
The motor is a Cobra iron block and Cobra crank with a load of good parts in it. It is 9.3 to 1 compression. We used Sullivan Hemi style valve covers and polished the upper and lower intakes. The cams have been replaced with a custom grind that will work well on the street. It has a Vortec T Trim with an air to water intercooler. The radiator has been replaced with a aluminum one from Howe Racing that was custom built. I will post more about it when Ii have a better parts list in front of me. They have fired the motor and it has a neutral tune in it. It is putting out well over 500 RWHP at 13 pounds of boost! The pictures shouls be up a little later today.:burnout:

Welcome to the world of BOOST!

Any thoughts on what rpms you will be turning in 1/4 mile?

What wheels fit on the car? Do you have more choices with the GM than a Marauder?

Have some of your coolant hoses been replaced w/ metal if so why?

Tom that came off of DRs car and we are not going to use it as it wants to blow off as the boost is more than it can handle. It looked great but dont work!

I will be able to pick up the car next week if nothing else rears its ugly head. They have figured out the tuning glitch! The numbers are good and it still gets a little more dyno work today. 600 Rwhp and 540 torque. to start with. Paul will fine tune it from here and leave it in that range. Thats at 18 1/2 pounds of boost and 6500 rpm. Goona be a long couple of days waiting on it. They still have to drive it and will put a hundred miles or more on it before I pick it up. Tires will be the next issue for the street.

johnkuhn
08-04-2008, 08:21 AM
No its not! It was on the dyno for its last pull and it encountered a tranny problem. Parts will be here for It this week. Should hit the streets next week and I am keeping my fingers crossed! After the transmission goes back in it goes out for a driveability test and final adjustments. Trying to stay cool while waiting!

johnkuhn
08-15-2008, 06:50 AM
Ok it has made a couple of trips down the road now. Paul says most everything appears to be good except for one very major problem. It is eating the tires like a kid with a big bag of M & Ms! It has traction issues at 100 mph as it will break the tires loose. So back to the drawing board on new tires that will stick on the street.

:D What size wheels can you put on the beast? I think the Marauder can only take a 9.5 inch wheel.

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I had a question about this beast...
Those headers - are they custom made? I know a guy who just made some for his Fiero, which had me thinking about making some for my car. If yours are, too, that will give me more motivation to come up with something for my heap.

And to continue the obligatory jaw dropping, that is one SICK car! Very nicely done!

They are Kooks for a Marauder, They had to be cut up and rebuilt, not a easy job. Still waiting on getting tranny issus resolved so I can drive it! May be spring before it hits the streets. Thanks for the comments! Dont know what is sicker, me or the car!

Oh, okay. Looks good for being cut up and all.
It's just disappointing no one makes any headers for the aeros... Maybe I'll start designing my own.
