driving home from to tower shops the motor went to heaven-i guess a little to much drag racing- oil blowing out of tail pipes and oil pouring on the ground
she will live again - will look into all options -

I am with you John. Well I have a problem too:mad:. Ran another 10.4 et @ 135 mph yesterday at the Spring Breeak Shootout in Bradenton. Switched tires back to the Nitto DR's. Went on the 30 mile drive. Next run for the True Street, blew the Nitto DR's off in the 60 foot, bounced off the rev limiter and then the car started smoking out of both pipes. Oil presure fine, no water in oil. Think I may have blown the seal out of the SC. Hopefully thats all it is. Car runs fine, just smoking like a chimney. Will check it out soon. Sucks, but thats drag racing.

FEEL FOR YOUR JOHN:depress:. I'll be at the picnic with my Lincoln truck:alone:.

When you push the limits you have to expect that things will break. Learn a lesson, make it better and move on. A couple of dumb things that I did yesterday, I will not do again. Important things which shoud have been done in the first place, but wasn't informed ot didn't research. My bad. It will be done right the next time.

Drag racing 101: go fast; have fun; keep pushing for a better and more profound rush; experience the undescriable joy and rare rush; break *****; fix it; repeat; keep wanting to feel that rush again, only better. About sums it up. Kinda the thing only "true" drag racers know about. Oh yeah, it does cost money. Would rather spend it on my car than a boat or at a casino.

Check your rear end, I didn't see the passenger's side spinning in the burnout box. Might have contributed to the traction problems if it didn't get good & hot in the burnout.

That there is pretty funny John.

Bill Gates wanted to look good and impress everyone with his success. He decided to measure the accomplishments of Microsoft against General Motors. The comparison went like this:

If automotive technology had kept pace with computer technology over the past few decades, you would now be driving a V-32 instead of a V-8, and it would have a top speed of 10,000 miles per hour. Or you could have an economy car that weighs 30 pounds and gets a thousand miles to a gallon of gas. In either case the sticker price of a new car would be less than $50.

In response to all this goading, GM responds: "Yes, but would you really want to drive a car that crashes twice a day?"

Tom:

In the olde days before mod motors, white smoke from both dual exhaust on an auto trans was nearly always due to a ruptured trans modulator valve that allowed engine vacuum to suck trans fluid into the engine. But, I do not believe there is any vacuum line on these MM trans?? Good luck with the repair.

Thanks for putting thiose up Chris. With the Nitto's I set the pressure to 16 lbs, usually haze them and at Bradenton they usually hook very well. Last year at this event I ran a 1.610 sixty foot with the Nitto DR's. These were new tires. Still was a suck burnout. But I did feel them stick (or so I thought). I cannot believe how I smoked them as far as I did. I should have let off but, noooooooooo, not me, I stick in it (probably becaused I was pi**ed). When they finally hook I took off at the big end. In retrospect, by not having a window switch the N2O was dumping in excessive amounts while bouncing off the rev limiter and probably caused the problem. It looks like the smoke starting coming out at around the 1000' mark.

Later, oil pressure was fine, no water in the oil and the car runs fine. But boy is she smoking. Your right Glenn, I thought maybe it was tranny fluid, and/or the SC seal blew out causing the smoke. Turns out the SC is fine. It could be a head gasket Brian, but my guess the problem is in the heads somewhere, possibly dumping oil into the valley causing the smoke. We'll see in a couple of weeks when I get home from this road trip. It will be back up and at-em in a few weeks. AND a window switch will be installed AND I will never race the car again without slicks. Way too much power for the Nitto's now. If I had been in a class where I could have used the slicks (not in True Street) this would have never happened. True street class is history for me as well. A good thing, the first run was another 10.4 @ 135 like my run at the SSHS8. Car is consistant, I just have to be:rolleyes:.

I'll let everyone know what happened once I get the motor out.
