DA BEARS !!

Cost of new stadium in Dallas - Over 1 Billion*
Cost of team salary - Hundreds of millions
Cost of Da Bears beating that a$$ in the first regular season game in new stadium - Priceless!!

*Originally estimated to cost $650 million, the stadium's current construction cost was $1.3 billion, making it one of the most expensive sports venues ever built. To aid Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones in paying the construction costs of the new stadium, Arlington voters approved the increase of the city's sales tax by 0.5 percent, the hotel occupancy tax by 2 percent, and car rental tax by 5 percent. The City of Arlington provided over $325 million <--take that, taxpayers!(including interest) in bonds as funding, and Jones covered any cost overruns. Also, the NFL provided the Cowboys with an additional $150 million, as per their policy for giving teams a certain lump sum of money for stadium financing.

And Da Bears don't even have a cheeleader squad!!

There is no proof that it is Favre and even the website says it's possible it's not him. I would find this hard to beleive from Favre, however if it is true, then he should be disciplined.

that having been said, when are the Jets going to stop allowing women dressed like strippers into the locker room.

For that matter, why do reporters need to go into the locker room at all.

I smell conspiracy theory, now that Randy Moss has brought his dysfunctional act back home, I think somebody just trying to drum something up as a distraction. (Ok, I know thats far fetched, but does anybody really think Favre would do something like this. It would be like finding out Peyton Manning was coc'd up.)

there are some players you expect things like this from (Ben Roethlisburger, the Cowboys of the 90's, Lawerence Taylor, The Oakland Raiders, to name a few) but I doubt Favre would do something like this.

And no I don't defend him because he is a Viking, and I will paste him if he's guilty. But I have watched Favre for most of his career, including when he was addicted to painkillers, and this just doesn't seem like him. I mean this guy has stayed away from the spotlight, still lives on a ranch in a small Missippi town, and still drives a pickup truck. I doubt he even knows how to send picture messages.

The NFL world seems to mostly be correcting itself. The Bears lost to a pitiful team, the Saints returned to form, Kansas City came back from Never Never Land and the Vikings escaped Dallas to throw their hat in the ring.
Casey, you can't really believe the Bears are a strong 4-2. Considering the Lions did beat them(don't care what the officials say) and the Packers shoudl have beaten them.

I can't wait until our front foor gets to lick their chops against that dismal offensive line.
so with 2 matchups against the Bears, and 2 against the Packers, I'll bet a beer a game with each of you to be settled in Louisville. Heres my new publicity photo

Bears lost :mad2:but we had fun, he brought his wife, I brought Amy, and for 2 hours we yapped and ate and drank and didn't talk about work. It was a good example of how sports rivalries and rooting for your favorite team can be great fun. This bet cost me 152 bucks, almost double my loss to guspech750 for our Cubs/White Sox bet. My bet is he won't. I don't think his heart was ever in it this year and I think he'll walk off into the sunset at this point. With our shotty offensive line play, Jackson is probably a better option at this point because of his mobility. But he has a cannon for an arm and with Moss and Harvin, it might work out well. Hell Daunte Culpepper was a Probowler for a few years under those conditions. The search begins for a new QB for next year, provided there is a season.

Yup and they're all saying that now. Hey Jay Cutler had a high completion percentage this weekend, if you include the completions to DeAngelo Hall. Which inspires the following tongue twister

"The Hall Called Hall about all the Balls he caught in the Fall from a guy that couldn't ball."

I'm just going to throw this out there, and pray D Hall doesn't intercept.

When dude has 3 ints from your arm, don't even look on his side of the field. Run the ball. But that's right Mike Martz uses the pass to set up the pass. In a close game, what did they have? 12 rushing attempts. I'm glad I'm in Atlanta this year, it gives me something to root for.

Yup, everything is going wrong in Minnesota, and I think it comes from the coach. Let's highlight some Brad Childress Moments shall we

Tavarious "the answer" Jackson, oops not so fast
Gus "I injured myself by headbutting the wall in celebration" Frerotte.
Wait, Wait, I know, I'll get Brett Favre. This actually served as a good move since Brett came in, ignored Childress playcalling and ran the offense himself, couple of bad penalties away from the Superbowl

No word from Brett going into the draft, should we pony a second rounder for McNabb, naaa

Draft day, still no word from Brett, but when we pick Clausen and Colt McCoy are available, should we draft em? Naaaaa

Let's get father time to come back even though he doesn't want to, the hell with the future, we still have "the answer" riding pine

Sidney Rice is out, let's trade for Vincent Jackson, naaaa Chargers want to much

Let's trade for Randy Moss, sure he must be great, the most solid team of the last decade doesn't want him, send them a 3 and book us for Dallas

Ooops, what's that? Randy Moss is still an *********? Didn't see that coming. I thought he would be a positive influence on a young team. For sure he would never give up on a play, he'll give us his best, start counting wins now.

But coach, your defense isn't tackle or sacking, think you might change something up there? Naaaaa, defense is boring, I got Moss.

......3 weeks go By.....

Ahh we didn't need that third round pick, we release the *********, let's hope Brett can actually walk into the sunset instead of being carried on a stretcher.

A fan's message to Zygi Wilf.

First of Zyg's, love that your named after a comic. Look bud, you brought a lot of energy to the team over the last 3 years since you bought them, and brought us close. Few things I wish to convey to you
1. The word Franchise-Minnesota has not had a franchise QB since Tarkenton, there's some good guys coming out this year. Let's get the research done and find a Sam Bradford, or Matt Ryan, or Matt Stafford

2. To do that research, fire the damn Brain Trust you have now, they suck. Get a hold of Bill Cowher or John Gruden, whatever they want, give it to them. Both have appeared in Superbowls with Average QB's (Neil O'Donnell, Brad Johnson)

3. Give a great job recommendation for Childress, that way maybe he ends up in Chicago and we can spend the next 3 years whooping that ass.

Also in your search for QB, stay away from anyone over 35.

Thanks Zyg's, let's get to work. (Oh and keep Prince out of the stadium, he doesn't exactly exude toughness in football team, and don't let him make another team song.)

That is all, rant finite.

Bears 22, Bills 19 (http://www.suntimes.com/sports/telander/2874092,CST-SPT-rick08.article#)
CAST YOUR VOTE
What satisfied you most about the Bears' victory over the Bills?
Mike Martz's balanced play-calling
The O-line gave decent pass protection
Tim Jennings' 9 tackles and 1 interception
Nothing. They barely beat a winless team.

So the 5-3 Bears were able keep their dignity intact, barely, beating the super-runt of the NFL, the now 0-8 Buffalo Bills, 22-19.
I heard some TV people postgame at the domed and echoey Rogers Centre saying this game was a come-from-behind win by the Bears.
No, it was a fall-from-ahead loss by the Bills. These hapless creatures from upper New York have figured out more ways to blow stuff than a tornado.
Add one more. The Bills might have won this down-to-the-wire game had it been held at their home field, two hours and another country away.
This was a Bills home game, you say?
Tell that to the thousands of roaring, orange-and-blue-clad Bears fans in the cavernous baseball dome.
''It seemed like it was close to 50-50 out there,'' said depressed Bills coach Chan Gailey.
I'd put it more at 40 percent Bears fans, 40 percent Bills fans, 9 percent lost Blue Jays fans and 11 percent drunken Maple Leafs fans hoping for a hockey game and/or fight to break out. <---now that's funny!
The favorable Chicago cheering may, indeed, have been a factor in the Bears doing something right that they haven't done right in a long time -- consistently convert third downs.
''Things clicked,'' said Bears tight end Greg Olsen, who caught a third-down touchdown pass from quarterback Jay Cutler in the second quarter. ''We did a good job of keeping third downs manageable.''
That means not a lot of third-and-longs. Even so, the Bears converted on third-and-12 (illegal use of hands penalty on the Bills), third-and-10, third-and-7, third-and-10 (pass interference) and third-and-10 again. For the game, they were 7-for-12 on third downs.
For the Bears, this is thrilling. Like not just pounding on your little brother, but holding him down and drooling on him.

No worries Rayjay, for you ahve to consider whats worse. If you are a Vikings fan...

then every season you are usually just a step above mediocrity, and poised for a heartbreak. And even in the years you are real good, a dirty bird spoils the dance.

If you are a Bears fan.....

You float in limbo between being a perennially awful team and being a potential championship team. The one thing you know is that you will always be disappointed

If you a Packers fan....

Well here's the good news, your going ot be a rock solid team and make the playoffs on a regular basis. However most playoff games will end in incredible disappointment (A syndrome that now also haunts the Vikings)
A las tsecond interception on a pass that shouldn't have been thrown in the first place. And what you begin to realize is that you can't win a Superbowl unless your QB is on Vicodin.

But as I am writing this, I also consider the plague of the Bills fan. 4 straight Superbowls are an incredible feat, that will probably never be matched. That alone should make them one of the greatest frnachises ever. But all 4 Superbowls we met with an increasingly loud Thud.

Forget it, the 4 of us are forever condemned to mediocrity, but at least the Bills should have the #1 pick

I must say the late 80's through the mid 90's was a great time to be a Bill's fan. There were other good years, but those were the best. Since then its been one rebuilding year after another, letting one pro bowl player go after another, ect, ect... I must say there is at least a glimmer of hope in me with this new head coach, who's name I can't even remember. They never should have let defensive Coach Perry Fewell go :banghead: stupid, stupid, stupid.
