I don't know if I'm getting misinformation, but I've run into a dilemma. After reading various threads on MM.net, the Magnaflow 94106 cats were suggested as hi-flow replacements. So, mid last year I did the rear cat delete, SW longtubes, Magnaflow 94106 and X-tube install.
After about 5K miles, the driver's side cat has disintegrated (rattling). I took the car back to the custom exhaust shop, and they told me these Magnaflow's that everyone on here are calling hi-flow are not hi-flow at all.
So, I call Magnaflow up to see if I can get a warranty replacement. They tell me the 94106's are for ODBI vehicles only, and they will not warranty them installed on any vehicle after 1996.
Sooo....I'm SOL with a pair of junk converters and will have to pay the expense to get another set installed.
What's everyone's take on the above, since the 94106's are often recommended here for our MMs? If not the 94106, what IS a proven hi-flow cat that I should use?
