when i start driving forward or reversing, truing left or right , I hear noises for the rare end, metal grinding to be exact.
This noise goes away when i drive above 10-15. I went to change the differential fluid and it was pretty bad !!
so I figured it's the time to upgrade the whole thing.

Am I going to need a new Differential Cover ?

Eaton truetrac differential ? worth it ?

31 SPLINE AXLES or 28?

did I miss something?

Thanks in advance

you won't need a diff cover unless there is something wrong with yours or you want to upgrade it.

If you plan on drag racing, I hear the truetracs aren't the best choice, and our diffs are fine.

here is a parts list i put together for a rebuild I did.

Not a fan of the oem Trac loc diffs, the Eaton limited slip, or Auburn Pro series are much better/stronger units.

Always get 31 spline axle shafts when changing the differential. Replace the pinion crush spacer with a solid shim kit.

Any clutch type diff will eventually fail. Do it once with a Trutrac and fergit about it.

Cleaning the inside of the housing is imperative, and difficult to do without a complete disassembly.

A diff cover with load bolts for the bearing caps is a nice addition. For the most strength, have the axle tubes welded to the center casting, by an expert with the proper alignment bar and bearing adapters to keep the tubes straight.

We've done a boat load of em! At the shop we recommend the following:

1. Axles, if you have bad ones, upgrade to 31 spline.

2. 31 spline posi, whatever flavor of them you want. Each person has there own belief on which one is better and why

3. 4.10's we use FORD Motorsports only

4. Ford instal kit

5. girdled rear end cover, its a must when we do them. Not only does it look nice, it gives you a drain for the rear end for future fluid changes, and it will increase the structural strength of the rear end.

6. tuner with a tune from whom ever you would like....

7. If you need rear brake work now is the time, also you will need some good fluid and additive

Don't forget axle bearings and seals, and replace all the races and bearings.

Thanks bro. Now I got the money I'm ready to go to summit racing to buy all these stuff. I was at ford dealer this morning and we talked
about the cost of this rebuild. he told me if i provided all the parts that needs to be replaced the labor cost will be around 500$ more or less.
what do you think

FWIW, TA Performance makes the Ford Racing units for Ford...the only difference is the name inscribed on the back.

Is there difference between M-4210-C And M-4210-C3 ?

Its the only thing I'm missing, I found M-4210-C3 but I don't know if they will fit or not.

+1 on the stud kit. If your in there spend a few extra bucks.
