Buy it and have Chip Foose "steal" it. That would be interesting.

In our dreams they never overheat, leak oil or have slipping transmissions, doesn't stop me from owning older stuff though...

Back in the early 60's, a friend of mine was stationed in San Diego (Navy).

This guy was a rock solid MoPar guy, but he said that one of the quickest cars on the street was a 58 Merc with the 430/3-2's motor, three speed on the column.

The car was a 2 dr, not a 4 dr.

For a MoPar guy to praise a Merc the way he did, that car must have been something for it's day.

If you guys have the time, read this thread about the owner of a 1965 Chris Craft who is rebuilding the boat's original Lincoln 430 'MEL' engine! (In a 21 foot Chris Craft.....Hang on and say YAHOOOOOO!)
Beautiful Hi-performance rebuild and pretty eye candy parts on this Big Block beast....It's going to end up being like a Mercury Super Marauder engine, only in a boat.
He has lots of pictures of the build and information on these 430 Big Blocks.
Towards the end of the thread you will see how he is using a VERY RARE 430 Tri-Power set up and also a set of those VERY RARE Edelbrock M4 exhaust manifolds that the Mercury Monterey seller has in his Ebay ad.
Those 430 MEL Big Block 3 duece manifolds and M4 water cooled exhaust manifolds must command a VERY HIGH price....$$$$$......
