    Help with Issues

    Hi guys,

I have posted on here a few times about a few issues i am having with my 04 MM. i have done the fuel filter mod and even installed a larger fuel filter. today i installed a set og Granatelli HOT Street performance COPs with NGK Iridium plugs. i have verified that i am running the 2R3V-B5A 39# injectors, and installed a fuel pressure gage directly to the fuel rail while my full sweep gage is being repaired. It says i am getting around 30#s at idle, which i think is probably enough, dont really know what the exact #s should be. Recently completed the S/C PCV setup, and cleaned my IAC. I think i need to clean my EGR and Air bypass. The problems i am experiencing at the moment are:

    1. CEL came in 0190 for the FRPS. i have had it twice before. pull vacuum line off but didnt smell any gas.

    2. When taking off from a dead stop to WOT car hesitates then accelerates then starts to buck lack fuel no fuel and sometimes even stops at about 5,000 rpm and wont shift out till i let out on it.

    3. It seems even though i have swapped out the plugs and COPs that i have an occassional miss.

    4. I can hear an excessively loud whine from my fuel pump when i turn the key on and while driving.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Jamie

Loud fuel pump is usually running dry or dying.
Maybe the screen on the pump is plugged up?
Did the car set for a long period of time?
Have you ever looked at your fuel pressure under load when hesitation occurs?
It's all BS until you can show me the time slip!

hasnt setup for a while, due to my gage being repaired i cant see the fuel psi under load. i havent checked the screen at the fuel pump yet. i am hoping to get this issue corrected soon. i have noticed when reving the engine and looking at the gage under the hood that the pressure surges and then drops off when i let off the gas to around 12psi. any thoughts?

so today when i got home from work sitting in my drive way i give the engine a little gas and reved it up alittle, to my surprise it strated to bust up or feel like it was being choked out around 4000rpms when the accelerator was at WOT from idle. I also noticed that at the same time as it was being choked out the Traction Control light was blinking. Has anyone had any of the same issues? do you think it could be the throttle position sensor or fuel pump? i am at a loss right now and just hope to get her back to the beast she should be.

Can't say I've tried on the Marauder but the park/neutral rev limiter is set to a lower RPM than the in gear rev limiter.

it has never done it to me before and it happens like that driving down the road when i go to WOT. i am clueless as to what it could be. today when i was coming to work i just held it down to see what would happen and if it would clear up or what, but it ended up filling like the car was going to die and there was no power what so ever after i backed off. Just want to fix it.

So i checked my TPS and it was reading 1.109 so i adjusted it to read .99volts. stroked the TB and it read 4.555 at WOT. had a buddy watch my fuel pressure gage while i went from idle to WOT and it was reading 40psi. Not sure what it should be reading with 39# injectors. kind of seemed like it was not getting enough fuel because it was cutting out and the traction control light was flashing again, except this time it was at around 3600rpms and would climb any further. if i gradually push down on the gas it climbed with no problems. if i gradually pushed down on the gas to about 3600rpms then go to WOT it immediately cuts out again. Madness! could really use some info or suggestions on this issue.

I wish I had an answer for you, my S/C car has a higher volume fuel pump and
    60lb injectors. Good luck.

I wish you could help me to, hell it is getting to the point of almost struggling to idle now. I dont know what is going on with it. I am thinking maybe the fuel pump is going out but it is showing pressure on the gage.

well i called and chatted with Andy from The Mustang Shop and told him the syptoms and he suggested that i re-gap my plugs. I have them gapped at .056 right now. Guess i should have know better. but i didnt. i was instructed to gap them to .030-.035 and give that a try. maybe this will help, hell i am just about willing to try anythign to get it running like it was.

Checked almost everything I can think of and retraced my actions I completed the couple of days before it started the problems. I am now at the point where I am going to start throwing parts at it and see where gets me. If not then its trailer it to the closest custom shop around. 180miles away and see if someone can figure it out.
