Question Heated Seat switch throwing a code?

Got in the MM this morning at 4am to go to the gym. I look over to the passenger side and see the heated seat switch blinking as if it was throwing a code. I did not count them but there were like 3 long blinks with a few short rapid ones.

Is this possible? What's going on?

    Thanks

No code, just random blinking. Needs a new switch. The LED is intermittent. Common problem.

On a related note I just had BOTH heated seat elements (both sides) replaced under warrantee. Seems kinda lame for them to both go at 49K miles.

Mine were replaced at around 10K miles.

So far, after 49K miles, the only unexpected failures I have had with the car have been the Lighting Control Module, the heated seat elements, and the heated seat switches. All have been replaced under warrantee. I wonder if I should fear electrical failures after the warrantee runs out!

My driver's side one went out with around 20,000 miles or so and replaced under warranty. The passenger side one started blinking last year. And since I have put less than 2000 miles on it in the last year I have yet to replace it. I did get a new switch, but just haven't taken the time to install it yet.

IIRC, the switch is around $50.00 each. Labor, about 30 minutes per side.

    Both mine replaced under 20k.

Very common problem with the MM, GM's and CV's.

    Most Dealers stock this part.

Order the switch online (or call Ray) and it costs about half that price.

+1 on ford nut, the only way to retreve codes is the eatc, stock radio, or the scan tool, the heater switch it not a code giver, replace the swithc
