Shouldn't our MM command this price?

I talked myself out of buying one in '87, saying I needed a "family" car. Bought a 3.0 LeSabre instead. (view Pat kicking himself).

Therefore, I'm hoping that ~15 years down the road, counting from 03, our cars should command at least twice as much as we paid for them. 27K appreciated to 54K+. Even though MM's are selling around 15K now.

Of course this is from a guy who lost most of his fortune in the stock market.

I like it, but I wouldn't buy that one. I'd get one with some miles and mods. Cool find though.

    Yep,
I think that they are looking for 6 figures based on the comment: "they are changing hands the other side of $100,000.....less than 20 have this low a mileage...."

BTW; Did you see the sticker price....$29,000+ ($11,000 for the GNX option!! ) for a GNX 20 years ago!!!!!

What kind of mechanical condition is a car that has sat for 20 years?

I had a car sit for a year and the valve spring broke, due to rust. Fortunately I turned it off right away and the damage was limited to the valve.

Understood, but I question how good an investment it really is...

#1: To preserve its' value you CAN'T drive it. = No enjoyment

#2: You have the ongoing expense of storage and some form of insurance.

#3: What would $31,000+ ($29,290.00 plus taxes, title and tags and any ADP...additional dealer mark-up) invested in 1987 be worth today assuming @ 10% annual rate of return?

Why torture yourself with an automotive 'investment' that you CANNOT drive??

Drive them! and Drive them like you stole 'em!...Collector Lynn Park owns something like 9 ORIGINAL SHELBY COBRAS...and he drives everyone of them as often as he can.
