    stainless works headers

To all you guys with the stainless works headers did you feel a big difference? Is it worth the 1400 dollars? I wanna bolt up to the factory h pipe. Already have magnaflow mufflers on the car. Give me some your .02

I don't think they bolt up to factory size mids. Mids are 2.5”, SW headers are 3”.

Headers alone won't give you any more "feel" of power..but do them with high flow cats and either a 2 1/2 X or H and Magnaflow mufflers and you will .

I think so, you'll gain 20-25HP and about as much torque. It's the gift that keeps on giving. You'll get better mileage too, if you can keep your foot out of it.

Yes, MAUCAT will bolt right up to the factory H pipe. SW are very good quality. Good luck.

Have you invested in a tune and 4.10 gears yet? If not, go that route first, much more bang for the buck. (And if you go with headers, you're gonna want a tune anyway).

I will be giving lidio a visit To get a tune. Didn't realize he was local. I will investigate the 4:10 swap as well. Still want headers though.

Fair enough, but lotsa bucks for HP gained.

Have you considered saving up some bucks for a blower? Will get a bunch more HP for the money invested, and IMO, will make much better use of headers and a custom exhaust system.

I have thought about it yes. I'm glad I'm not impulsive because after further discussion with lidio, we have settled on starting out with gears and a tune. He said that after that gains from the headers would be very marginal. They won't be very cost effective in my situation. I am leaning towards leaving the exhaust alone. I might cut out the rear cats, but don't see the point in hacking it up. Can't find a shop that does mandrel bends anyway.

    ^^^^^ Good stuff. ^^^^^

Lidio' giving you the straight scoop. Gears and tune are the two best mods you can make to a stock Marauder.

If you want to open up the exhaust a bit without spending a lot of bucks, replace the OEM cats with one pair of high flow cats and maybe a set of aftermarket mufflers (although the OEM mufflers flow pretty well).
