It seems the factory spoliers tend to shrink at the ends and finally crack about 8" in from the ends. You can see them start to pull away from the trunk lid at the ends. It may be the heat/cold cycles of the seasons, but all of our MM's have done it (spoilers going on 8-10 years old) and had to have the spoliers replaced. So, I wouldn't use a used spoiler anymore unless it was fairly new.

I think that problem was caused by improper installation at the dealer. I very carefully installed the one on my Marquis back in '05 and it never gave me any issues. The one on my Marauder now I put on last year, and I'm hoping it stays perfect as well.

The ones that cracked were all at the 9-10 year old mark. All put on when new. All cracked within a year of each other. I could see them shrinking a little bit over the years but never really thought about it. They are made in England for some odd reason.
