I converted my dome lights and footwells and trunk to LED; I used the high power kind, off ebay. Cheaper than any website - I put LEDs in all my cars, previously bought all of them from superbrightleds.com, spent like 120 bucks to do the Excursion... The marauder cost me 20 bucks and have a few spare bulbs still. The ones I want to do next are the mirror visors, found some - on superbrightleds - that seems like they will fit nicely in there.

Only worry I have is that the lights dim slowly when they go off, I'm not sure how good/bad that is for the LEDs. I'll post some pics tonight when I get home. I wish there was a way to get rid of the stupid green... with 3 fords, it gets boring fast...

Jim did a "great" job. Now people won't be fumbling for the door handle at night.

    I have a stupid question

What is the best way to remove lens covers on overhead console? I have a 300A with 2 front map lights and Dome light toward back of console. I changed the dome ligt pretty easy by popping the lens cover off enough to get my fingers up in there. The map lights are harder to put back in cover. Any suggestions???

    Thanks

Chris, You have to remove the overhead console to get to the bulbs.

    1. Remove the screw in the front of the console.
    2. Open the sunglass holder and remove those two screws.
    3. This is the hard part...... pull down on the console, it's held in by clips.
    4. Disconnect the electrical connector at the front of the console.

You will be able to get the front map light bulbs by twisting the sockets about 1.4 turn.

No kidding. I weigh ~210 lbs and pretty much had to lift myself out of the seat holding onto the damn console. Those clips are vicious!

You can't do that with the full length 2003 overhead console.

I meant that you have to remove screws and release the clips on a 2003 full length console.

The 2004 short console is just held up with clips.
