I've had one on mine since 2005.....pulls my 2200 pound boat just fine!!

I don't pull it often but had to have that option in case we had to evacuate for an approaching Hurricane!!

Kurt is the brand I had on my Vic, rated to 4000lbs distributed.

Air suspension is helpful for towing as it will lift the suspension back up to proper height after it is loaded.

Had Uhaul in Whitehall, PA (McArthur Rd) install mine on the CV.
I have towed my Harley on the trailer with it twice. Hauled the stuff from the house in PA to Fl when I moved and made other trips back and forth with it.
Used it to pick up stuff at the home center, haul an engine across FL, get an air compressor.... and much other stuff!
The Vic never missed a beat and performed flawlessly.

The Marauder did not have a hitch.... it was too sensitive for that.

    U haul Grand Marquis hitch

I have passed down my 1992 U Haul Grand Marquis hitch to my 1999 and now my Marauder. Perfect fit and very sturdy. I have hauled over 2000 # over 1500 miles driving from PA to TX. Mountains were no problem when you use your transmission and brakes like you are supposed to. Air lifts really help. Be sure they install it so you won't hit your bumper when connecting. Just my 2 cents. Maury

I went with the hidden hitch, had it on for 10 years??
A Uhaul one is simple. Call them, drive up and they put it on.

Properly dispersed weight on the trailer would equal only 200 pounds at the tongue. I see no reason whatsoever to worry about that or the 2,000 load.

I put the Valley class III on, works great. Out of production now I believe. I would stay away from the little class II receivers, those are for Prius'. I think Curt makes a good class III for panther.
