Yes, I do like these Marauders and just picked this up a month ago from Jeffonebuck, and his for-sale thread was here: http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forum...ad.php?t=99265
Why am I selling already? With loan rates going up I decided I needed a bigger garage!
As his original ad says, this car has 220,000 on the odometer but the motor has less than 100K. Everything he listed as needing work, I've taken care of:
1. Although he didn't list the windshield as being a problem, it still had 220K miles so I replaced it. OCD kicked in and I like looking through new windshields.
2. Had the hood repainted. This was one of those cases where the clearcoat just started peeling off. The rest of the car is fine and now the hood is perfect.
3. Fixed the leaks in the A/C system. It was a bad dryer and pressure switch as noted in the original ad.
4. Comes with a Mo's SCT XCAL 4 with custom tune. When I got it, the factory trans shift/lock schedule just doesn't cut it so I got this fixed. I even had Jeff @ Mo's include my own custom tune in there.
5. Fresh plugs and a complete set of new Ford Racing Coils to match. It has a miss that was detectable when cruising down the highway that again, OCD fixed. Two of the 8 plugs looked like they were a little too clean to be in there and I was right. Now everything is the way it should be.
6. There were aftermarket Eagle Eye and Depo headlights that had an awful pattern at night, so I replaced them with OEM Grand Marquis lights. Yes, they are chrome instead of blacked out, but they are OEM and the light pattern is now perfect. There are many articles on here now to show you how to get them to look factory if you want. I'll also include the aftermarket lights if you want them.
7. New fogs too! The ones one the car looks all pitted and needed replaced. These are not Cibies, but they work great.
8. It has the two new rear tires to be mounted, and the trunk has the nice liner with lids.
9. I replaced the EACT unit in the dash. It has an electrical issue where it would reset when going over bumps etc. I replaced it with the one out of ProRauder since mine had less than 20K miles and works flawlessly.
10. I'm also throwing in the "just removed" QA1 front coil-over setup off of ProRauder. These are the coils, QA1 adjustable shocks and spanner wrenches. All you need are the rear shocks for a complete conversion!
11. Replaced the IAC because I could.
All of these addons are easily $4K or more, so I'm going for $7000 and it's ready to go.
I will get better pictures today after the car wash and post up.
I forgot to add, this car also has a remote-start system in it that I'm not even sure Jeff knew about. Works great as do the heated seats!
Cheers!
