who wants to talk speaker setups?

during one of my hours scrolling through craigslist i found some tragedy crown vic jacked way up sitting on giant chrome turds but this crown vic had something i had yet to see. Proper trunk boxes... something like this but i have yet to find any sort of box for the crown vic/marauder/grand marquis. any one can help?...

also how does everyone feel about this? maybe not the same design but i like the idea

The box is nicely done, tight fit, off to the side and out of the way. I give it an 8 out of 10. Personally I think a speaker should always be protected by a grill in a trunk and I'd like to see the box done in the same color carpet as the trunk.

As for the wrap....not my thing at all, how ever I can see that if you matched it to the car's interior (not black on brown) it may look alright.

i totally agree on the grill for the speakers ive had to many things fall THROUGH my subs. the reason i like this enclosure off to the sides is it leave all the trunk and the shelf for the spare and maybe some amps. way better than a huge box filling up the trunk.

maybe if that dash wrap was done in crown royal bags... hhmmmm ideas for a crazy dash wrap

The Crown Royal is not a bad idea...maybe in carbon fiber type color / black or charcoal grey background

I too like the fitment of the box...but it definately needs a protective grille...just in case.

I was going to suggest a different orifice, but your point is still valid, Jim...

As to the fitted enclosures, the concept is neat, but they are way too small to get anything approaching quality bass...

...unless the goal is one-note, thumpa-thumpa, "here comes the ricer" bass.

Here's the sub that I went with. It is easily removable in this configuration. With a massive amp and this sealed box Boston 10" the bass meets my needs. (And I am very picky with audio.) It isn't as good at the 10" Bazookas I had in the Grand Marquis, but it sure takes up less space.

Sure, I would love too. Are you talking about interior speakers or strictly subwoofers in the trunk?

I just got done with all my interior speakers, head unit, and running all my wires, etc. The only left to design is the subwoofer setup/enclosure.

I feel the only true way to get really good output is to port through the rear deck into the cabin. Otherwise, all your low end stays in the trunk.

I too have googled and searched the net looking for any neat or unique setups in these cars to no avail. I too started a thread not too long ago and had a few helpful responses.

I like the second trunk set up, it looks like it fits very well back there! I really need to come up with a new design for mine and try to get 2X12" on the back ledge.... for such a large trunk there isnt many options for stereo configuration.
