    Supercharged Marauder as DD?

    Hey all,

New here.. not new to the car scene.

First car was a '96 Grand Marquis, green on green leather. Currently daily-ing a build-to-the-gills 1995 BMW M540 6speed. Weekend cruiser is a 1964 Impala sedan, very nice mostly original car (just got a 700R4 over the weekend).

However, I'm potentially looking to get out of my 540/6 and into an SC'd Marauder.

Wondering- is anyone dailying a blown marauder? Curious to know if this will be a fun "daily" (not everyday but many) or costly. I'm used to some expensive maintenance in BMW world, but wondering how much the 4DOHC 4.6 and 4570W can take before there's trouble.

Car in question is professionally built, and built right with lower miles. I like going fast, but I like doing it reliably.

    What say you?
(Hope this hasn't been covered ad nauseum, searched but didn't find my opinions on a blower daily).

Plenty here do it. I don't drive mine daily, but others do with blowers. It's going to depend on how built up it is, the supporting mods , the tune etc. can you elaborate more on the set up of the car you are considering ?

the answer is, with proper supporting mods and expected maintenance - YES!
THE 4.6 DOHC & 4R70/75E & 8.8 are plenty for a 400-450 rwhp blower car on a street tune, daily, or weekend plus driven.
As said, some have 200k on their blown cars.
If it is tuned to not kill the bottom end of the engine (weak link when boosted), and you monitor the car condition frequently, everything else should last as long as stock.
    good luck.

    Me me me me.

Only problem I have is deciding which one

IMHO mild roots blower is trouble free and makes daily driving a blast.

Awesome guys, thanks SO much for the help.

    I'm looking at Steve's/ Embassy's car.

I love my E34 but I might just need to switch it up. This car would of course not be being driven though the awful New England weather. Have an AWD Subaru for that.

    Thanks guys.

I'm getting the vibe it would be more like weekends, or sometimes through the week.
I agree, Steve's car is show quality, but, another side says they are built to be driven and enjoyed.
I say if he has the cash, he can chose to drive it, and a car with high, well cared for miles is just as nice as a garaged show car - but the owner got more actual driving pleasure from his money.
    good luck to both.
