    Shocks

I am about to hit 60M on my Marauder. I think its time for new shocks. I carry lots of weight in my trunk or my backseat for work. What kind of shocks would you guys go with? Stock, Monroe, KYB, or or another shock?
Our the stock ones considered high performance?

Yes, Tokio shocks made just for the Marauder. If you got 60k out of the originals, you did good. My fronts are still fine but the rears were replaced
just prior to end of warranty.

tokico must have had a good relationship with ford.. they have made quite a few shocks for ford.. all of the Auto Ride Control shocks (Tbirds, early Mark VIII's anyway) were Tokico too

I recently put Monroe Sensa-Track in the rear. I like them just fine. And they are relatively innexpensive....

Monre Sense-Trac and OEM Tokico? Because my rears need to be replaced soon before they let me down.

Shocks? who needs em? Magindat helped me discover why my ride was a little rough and the adjustments on the Naakes made no difference. Guess what, I was riding on the bump stops. He says, " you could have saved a lot of money and just bought lag bolts. I tried to hate him for it but he found me shorter bump stops. Whole new car. Sure felt solid on the stops but I would have needed a kidney belt sometime soon. Ran few hundred wide open miles that way at Sebring. Not all bad. Dennis
GOD bless my friends, Paula, Cheese(Rex) and Alex and all those still with us.

Still need help? What are the advantages of the oem shocks? Are they more of a handling shock?

I found the Monroes have just as good handling as the oem. They seem to be built a little better than OEM. The ride is about the same and the responsiveness seems to be improved (as compared to shocks with 40K it should be.)

There are not a lot of companies making shocks for us. I guess you could go with the KYB, but they are pricey....

As I said before, I am happy with the Monroe Sensa-Track I put on my car. They were available in a day, and priced right.

I posted my results under "How Shocking" a couple months ago.

    I hope this helps....

    Updated numbers:

    Front: 3U2Z-18124-BH List $140.87

    Rear: 3U2Z-18125-AC List $99.85<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

This is what my Lincoln Mercury dealer quoted me today for the shocks.
I do get about a 10% discount off of these prices.

Here is a link for KYB shocks. I always liked them. I used them in my Thunderbird. They handled great.

Well, as a driving enthusiast, I decided on the KYB shocks over the Monroes or the oem's. The price from auto parts warehouse wes excellent, about $180.00 less than the dealer. KYB's will handle better also.

Thank you to the person who led me to their website. The prices were way better than any other online place I could find.
