This first pic is the gauge pod painted with colorbond 327 displayed next to the passenger side switch bezel that I used a combination of Hot Rod Primer base coat with a misting of Crayola Charcoal over it (before I found the 327). As you can see they almost match but the bezel came out a little lighter and bluer. lower pic is the original unpainted driver's side bezel against the same gauge pod. Closer match but still not perfect. Looks almost like we need a light flat black

As you can see below the pod is a little light and a little bluer.... but over all pretty close.

That's what saves us, enough different colors that as long as the color is close it looks fine. The leather on the seats is different then the door panels which is different than the vinyl and that varies from the plastic. To me it also looks like the texture dash vinyl is a different grey than the smooth plastic on the sides of the dash. That could be the texture reflecting the light differently but in the end I feel the 327 is close enough.

As these cars age, there no longer is a perfect match for all of the interior bits. It sucks, but unless all of the hard surfaces were painted the same color at the same time, there isn't going to be a uniform match.

That's a close enough match for me since the parts won't be next to each other ever.

pretty much how I feel, I reupholstered the console cover, sprayed the pod, cleaned and repaired the switches on the driver side and soaked my seats with leather conditioner three days in a row. The car looks like its a year old again (in the interior). Will work on other door switches and headlamp switch this weekend. I also cleaned the steering wheel switches, not sticky and they look way better.

    Now to plan the exterior.

This is the passenger rear door switch bezel I painted last night. Looked great (in the dark) but as you can see it still looks a bit too light and a bit too blue. I tried four other plastic, bumper and primer flat blacks, all too dark - definitely black not a grey. What might work is paining the plastic black first and misting with Colorbond 327. I think I'm going to order SEM 15303 Graphite and see how that turns out. In the end, this isn't too bad. It is what it is. Try color matching a 1970 Old's Pearl white interior - impossible

I sprayed all of my '80 Z28's interior from white and silver to blood red. I used mixed paint in quarts from the local auto supply house tinted to the proper color and shot them all hanging in my garage. Added seat covers and new carpet and the results were better than factory because as mentioned, this all got painted at the same time with the same quarts.

Are these items painted with cans holding up good?

so far, we will see. That's what I thought too, maybe mist all of it. Take the door panels off, clean them with Naptha, spray vinyl prep and then color coat with a mist coating to make it all match.

Most 60s/70s repo plastic parts now only come in black as well. fortunately in a convertible some parts are black no matter the Pearl interior

Here are side by side comparisons of paint options

    Left is an original
    Middle is SEM 17013
    Right is colorbond 327

In different light they look the same. In bright light the Colorbond is a little bluer and a bit light. The SEM is just a hair lighter than the original on the left but definitely a very close match. Funny thing is in real life (not these photos) the SEM is a closer match in these images the colorbond almost looks better - but IMHO you can't go wrong with either, pretty close

Below in different order, different light, different background, thus you can tell there is a bit more of a difference.

    Left SEM
    middle original
    Right Colorbond
