    eBay 'flip key'

I have way too many objects in my pocket giving me buldges in the wrong places!

So has anyone had any experience (good or bad) with the eBay flip key?

This is what I am talking about:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/300694078684?ssPageName=STRK:M EWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2 649

    Curious minds want to know.

    Thanks!

Looks like a Jetta key with the Ford blank. Hard to say if it is a PATS version, though.
    (#6178 in black per FPIC)
Call 1-800-FORD-788 and press "1". Have the last 6 of your VIN handy. You will get the numbers for FREE. You'll pay $$$ for the certificate.

MM traded in 8/9/13 @ 128909 miles. It was fun for almost 8 years. I met airmercpun on 1/17/14. He was the new owner of my former ride. -Now gone.

Update: back in the game with a late build 03 GMGS with some MM add ons like Escape audiophile radio w/Sirius sat radio, rear sway bar, catback exhaust, and header panel.

    Rest In Peace:

See my garage file for part numbers and whatnot.

IMHO, this site- the members that I chat with- and the ones that I now Hang with- are like my 2nd family. There is such an ongoing welcome feeling here that even members who don't or no longer own the MM can feel.

    Stupid question #57:
Whats the difference between PATS and a transponder?

Same thing, but the transponder needs to be the same as the PATS system in the Marauader.

I am looking at this too, I would assume they work since the feedback rating
is good. You know what can happen when you "assume"

Several years ago someone on this site tried something like this (if not this exact item) & it did NOT fit in the ignition lock - the top was too big to insert the key all the way in.

OK, with all that being said I have yet another question for all of ya.

Please look at this eBay ad:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/370148754410?ssPageName=STRK:M EWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2 649

I know the eBay ad says this key will only work on Milans and Sables but that is probably factory recommended applications. They never consider retrofits.

Can anybody tell me if this will work on our Marauders?

    Thanks!

You will have the same problem as the other key that you asked about.
I know because thats the same key that my Flex uses only with a Mercury emblem on it.
The body of the key is to wide to slip into the narrow collar of the ignition swith on the MM so it will not engage all of the tumblers.

Damn, I guess I should have read this whole thread. I just ordered two.
My wife's VW works just find.
Your right there is not the same issue with the part being able to insert all the way in
I would think the vendor would have make some provisions for this application.
Unless I can return them I'm out eight bucks.

If the vendor states in the tittle and description that it works on the MM and it in fact does NOT,
you will be entittled to a refund.
If the vendor drags his feet in giving the refund just file a claim with ebay.
    I got mine no problem.
