    Lincoln LS v.s. MM?

After I told my husband I saw a silver LS with a spoiler yesterday and thought it looked "wrong"...he proceded to tell me the new 04 LS would blow the doors off my MM! Was he just rattlin' my cage or what? (He likes the LS).

LS will beat the MM, however so will the Honda Accord. MM is more of a platform car to work with, not a speed demon, unless you make it one.

However, the MM looks mean and lean. LS looks like a poor man's BMW 5 series - IMHO.

    My 2 cents.

Sorry EFF, but I got a burr under my saddle. I knew when I took on a Vette I'd loose, but, an LS..never guessed it.

OK, but what about a POST stage I mods MM? (4.10s, chip, stat, plugs, and maybe pulley) Still not a contest?

My dad drove Grand Marqs for decades - now he has an LS (00 or 01 - not sure). I tol him about my pending MM purchase (whic if all goes well I will have in my driveway tomorrow evening)

He smiled and said he looked at one but his LS would take any MM - or at least "stay right with it."

Once I have had a chance to road trip to Dennis' place I plan to stop by my dad's for a visit . . .. I don't plan on telling him what I will have had done to it.

What do you think my chances are?

actually the little woman drives the ls,but she luvs to get behind the wheel of the big car. I think i need to put some louder mufflers on her car just so she feels like its more of a performance machine. But they are both nice cars that i enjoy having ownership of. Jeff

I challenge the MM vs. the L.S. We bought our MM in L.V. and were on our way home to S.D. My wife had to drive the 5.0 explorer while I cruised out front with the new MM I was excited and looking to guage the MM. I happened upon a silver 4.0 L.S. on the wide open road which there is plenty of between L.V. and S. D. This was a cool guy and he wanted to test also. The results are as follows from 60MPH I pulled him quite easily. I am sure from lower speeds it may have been different. The MM (even stock) is quicker from 60-100 than an L.S.

If you need a car that has a roomy interior,ie,you're over 5'6" tall or over 140 pounds, the LS is not the one to do a coast to coast road trip in. No flames to the LS,it's a nice little sporting sedan,I actually really like the car,but at 6'3" and 270 or so I can't get comfortable in,or comfortably INTO one,how would you like to have to sit in the rear seat behind me ,zero leg room.

O.K. here's another question, would the MM beat an 86 Mark VII? Used to have one, just curious.
