Thinking about pulling the trigger on this one. There asking $2500 OBO my best offer may be like $1900. Looks clean but I need to hear it run and drive it first. Price may go down more.

MM traded in 8/9/13 @ 128909 miles. It was fun for almost 8 years. I met airmercpun on 1/17/14. He was the new owner of my former ride. -Now gone.
Update: back in the game with a late build 03 GMGS with some MM add ons like Escape audiophile radio w/Sirius sat radio, rear sway bar, catback exhaust, and header panel.
Rest In Peace:

See my garage file for part numbers and whatnot.
IMHO, this site- the members that I chat with- and the ones that I now Hang with- are like my 2nd family. There is such an ongoing welcome feeling here that even members who don't or no longer own the MM can feel.

For my brothers wedding in 1980, my father borrowed a Mark VI from his work and it had a rechargeable flashlight in the glove box.
My dad owned an 81 Mark VI when I was 14 or 15...sold it before I got my DL...

That is a very rare car.
It may not be considered a super collectible in the future, but you will definitely not find another one in future classic car shows.
If it is a Town Car coupe, 4935 were made in 1981. If it is a 1981 Mark VI, quite a few more were made that year {18,740 units}. Nevertheless, I agree with the above quote. I second the vote on the variable venturi carburetor that was equipped on Ford vehicles of that era.

Body looks sharp from those pictures. Cars like those are fun to put mildly worked engines in and have a sleeper-hot-rod-cruiser.
I like the general shape of the car but the wheel base seems short. GLWP

Beware of the variable venturi! An Autolite 2100 would be a good substitute.
