Caution : Curbs are closer than they appear.

Was cold out today on Long Island. 49 degrees. My Nitto NT555's don't like the cold. Makes for easy fish tailing. I've done it a thousand times on purpose. Ate a curb this time. Did not eat the giant and very sturdy looking fence or the phone pole. Got lucky and didn't damage the body. Bent the rim, possibly the axle and somehow even the brake rotor. Still cheaper than therapy. FTW !

Refreshing to see someone own up to having made a mistake. Made plenty myself over the years...

Fix it forget it! My son kissed a curb with the passenger rear wheel two years ago. NEW rim, brake backing plate, axle and axle bearing, seal, brake pads, tire, emergency brake pads-parts were under 1G. You never knew it happened. No body work and I was happy.

Jesus I wish more people were like this at least. You've owned up to it, get it fixed and enjoy her again man, maybe not on the nittos in the cold though, I use to do the same when it would snow or on rainy days

I wish man, I wish. How friggin cool that would be. Unfortunately there is none of that around here. I live in the land of high home values and high taxes. Imagine how many homes you could put on what was once a drag strip and how much tax can be collected from them. The bureaucrats around here squashed stuff like that long before I got here.

Good thinking though. Something like that could possibly satisfy my demons.

Since I clearly lightened the rim by a few ounces, does that count as a performance mod ?
