    Power mirrors not working

The Mrs took the car out yesterday she tried to adjust the power mirrors both left and right do not work.

I Checked the fuse its ok.

With ignition on I then checked to see if there is juice going to the control switch --- no voltage is present.

I think the wiring has failed somewhere. Before I start tracing the circuitry is there a specific area / location I should check first that is prone to failure?

Check the circuit board in door for cold solder joints.

There are no cold solder joints or cold soldiers in the switches. If there was cold soldiers they would have to be very tinie tiny ones....

The OP said there was no power to the switch so it's not a cold solder joint anywhere.

OP - the fuse in the Central Junction Box (fuse box inside the car) # 3 (7.5A) should be hot (have power) at all times. Pull the fuse out and see if there is power to one of the connectors in the box, if there is put the fuse back in (if it's good) and see if there is power to the other side of the fuse.

Report back with what you find.

    When it rains it pours

Oh brother Murphy has struck again

Because of the power mirror issue the car is in front of the house. While I was checking wiring I hear a loud snap.
15 minutes later I get in the car to move it to a spot where the sun is less intense and there it is a huge U shaped crack in the middle of the windshield.
Well... yesterday a truck in the right lane flung a rock back diagonally across the road right into the center glass. I immediately pulled over and inspected the windshield it appeared to be ok - obviously that's not the case.

I put a cover on the car and walked away I'm too irritated to deal with it

Tomorrow I'll post a gruesome picture of a nasty crack in the MM windshield and then I'll get back to dealing with the power mirror issue. I'll inspect Central Junction Box as suggested

it sucks about your windshield man. Well luckily the windshield shouldn't be too expensive since it's shared with the rest of the panthers. they are like $15 here at my local JY.

Also as fastblack mentioned, check on that fuse and if the fuse is not burned then my guess is your mirror control may have dirty contacts inside. maybe your next step is replacing it. Have you removed the door panel at all?

Mine has the same problem. Side mirrors stopped working. i haven't checked power yet. but did look at the switch and looks like a wire has an inline fuse link so ill check that as well tomorrow.
