    Squeak

I have had a squeak in the front drivers side for a while now. The front end is stock, but front Addco is on its way.

All the bushings seem good and soft, nothing is loose that I can find ... But something squeaks. Generally it is when I go over soft bumps. I have true bouncing the front end and going from side to side -- no squeak.

    It is not engine related.

Thoughts from the collective on what the could be causing the squeak?

    Thanks!

90% sure it's the hood squeak. I got some hood bumpers but did not help. Get some white lightning greaser and spray it on the hinges it will stop it for a month or so

Not hood Squeak -- already have rubber bumpers to prevent that.

Hood squeak can be deceptive with regard to specific location. Rubber hood bumpers are part of the solution but so is the adjustment on the left and right bumpers. Might also be attributed to the hood latch alignment. I wrapped some electrical tape around the latch to minimize the rubbing. That would be my first guess on your squeak.

Could also be the beginnings of the idler pulley problem. Mine started as a small squeaking noise and got progressively worse until it started to sound like a supercharger whine. Don't let it go that long .... or the pulley will fly apart and create bigger problems.

My bet is on the hood squeak because you only hear it going over bumps .... don't rule that out because you have the little rubber thingies.

^^^+1. I bought the bumpers thinking that was a cheap fix and the very same day squeak came back . After adjusting the left and right bumpers finally got it to go away.

You also should keep the bumpers clean and lightly lubricated.

I hate it when am wrong.

Good squeak is gone. New bumpers, oiling the old ones did nothing for me.
