I'd just paint the rotor hats with caliper paint.

I have been considering that. Seems like it would be easier to apply with a brush rather than taping and worrying about overspray etc...

Make a cardboard cover bigger than the rotor, cutout the middle so it fits over the hat. Paint away. Keep the cover for next time!

So, should you paint the bracket that holds the pads too or just the caliper?

Also, these eBay "Brakemotive" rotors and pads seem to be liked by a lot of people on this site. Really, it's just my rear pads are worn. Is it best to replace the cross drilled and slotted rotors I have or just do a "pad slap"? FYI, currently, there is no pulsation from my current setup, just worn pads.

Price was too good to pass up. One showed up with a dent so they are sending me another to replace.

I will update once I get them installed.

I've had mine on for a few months now. Nice brakes but quite a bit of squealing. Anyone else?

Mine started squealing a few months after i installed them, but its only the first couple times using the brakes before they heat up. Had them on since January, 15k miles or so, so far, and no complaints.

Get the brakemotives, they work well, and for the price they cant be beat for a drilled/slotted rotor set up. I have heard that you should use the pads they sell/package deal for optimal rotor life. I put a set on the wifes 10 f150, and still great quality.

Powder coating does not hold up to brake clean solvent. I would not use it.

Does it make a difference if the cleaner is Chlorinated or Non-Chlorinated?

My understanding is the chlorinated type is non-flammable but harsher to the environment. The non-chlorinated type is extremely flammable, but better environmentally.
