My car's clicking nose came from the ends of the steering shafts where they mate to the wheel assys. Just twist them and they click like mad. Just a thought.

I had a clicking/creaking/knocking noise from the passenger back wheel area. Happened randomly in forwards and reverse, going around corners and at all speeds. Didn't matter how fast I was going, it still happened at random inconsistent speeds. Turned out to be the bearings were wearing a groove into the axle shafts.
Well I am assuming that is the problem. I am still trying to get the right axles to put it all together. But I am positive the noise I was hearing was the axle banging around on bearings that were no longer a tight fit.
I just had mine repaired at Ford , Same click / creak noise as described .
Drivers side / (((( was driving me crazy for months ))))
One tech said it was u joints / drive shaft / body mount .
Another older tech said i know what it is .
The Ford tech said he seen this in a 2 Marauders and Crown Vics.
Check or look up in the drivers side frame hole by lower control arm , that piece of metal in there c channel 1 tiny spot weld breaks and spins.
On the hoist you could see where it had moved inside .
1 tiny mig weld noise is gone .
I just had mine fixed last Thursday still nice and quite .

John Bernard Books: First of all, friend, there's no one up there shooting back at you. Second, I found most men aren't willing, they bat an eye, or draw a breath before they shoot. I won't.
Possibly the clutches in the rear end.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my cars and parts for what I told her they cost!
Mine (creak) turned-out to be the transmission cross-member. *It had been removed to install a longer tail shaft housing.
It seems that once distrubed (taken-out / put-back-in) it will/can creak.
FIX: Oiled the seam(s) where the mount meets the frame. *Does need to periodically repeated.
