If you stay right in the tourist area then no problem. Watch out for alleys & side streets. Travel with friends.

    Bottom line big tourist trap.

I towed an airstream camper 70 hours drive from home down to South Padre Island and camped out for a month years ago.

We went over the border near Brownsville several time and enjoyed it every time. Too bad Mexico has become so unsafe.

The only disappointment was the Rio Grande, it looked so damn big in the John Wayne movies, In person it looked like a dirty creek.

My friend, if you ever plan to go to Mexico I suggest you to fly over the border, don't cross it. Also the mexican food near the border taste like ****. Go farther in mexico and have real traditional mexican food.
And to that guy who came up with the taco bell idea, my friend you have lived in a lie. Taco bell is gringo food!

My grandmother lived in a house without a central water heater. She had to heat a pot of water to do dishes. She always said she wanted to go to hell when she died because she would then have all the hot water she wanted.

    I never went, I didn't have time.

El Paso was in rear view by the 21st, sorry MMBLUE, but that would have been great.

El Paso was great, I loved it. The people, the layout of the land, decent food and if I wasn't married, I would totally date one of those Latina women. One knew who Johnny Thunders was and my jaw dropped, I had to leave before I started to like her too much. muahaha

Advice was followed, so thank you all.
