Smile FORGED PISTONS !!! Questions ???

Hi I know I ask a lot and I have this hard question that i want to ask you guys..

I buy the car and I has been told by the previous owner that the internals is forged !!! he said that he changed the pistons to a sporty one !!! and he said that the car has a sporty or stronger CAM too.!!!

My question is, How to identify that? I mean how to conform that the car have a forged rod and piston ? is there another way rather than taking the engine down and pull it apart ? if so, Does the forged pistons have some mark or an unique thing to tell !!!

And anybody now how much the all forged pistons and rods weight ?

sorry for my questions but i'm thinking to go S/C with more boost and I want to know if it's safe to go +450whp.

    THANK YOU

I've done stroker kits on three of my Mustangs and my Marauder. Externally, the engine looks the same. The only proof is the paper trail... and the dyno data to confirm the improvements.

I'm not really sure sir, but he did mention that the car is rebuild, that's why he go for the forged internals instead of stock ones.

Thank you guys, but still I need to confirm about the pistons and rods.

You can not confirm forged internals without paperwork or taking it apart. Just because he said so means nothing. Even paperwork could be suspicious in my book. I have boron-cobalt titanium encapsulated piston liners....see, it means nothing..sorry, but there is no simple proof of it. either tear it down and start over or take the risk

the only way to truly tell without paperwork would be to pull the engine apart and visually look at the pistons and rods. But if you really trust the guy then go ahead and up the boost.

He should have some sort of receipt of purchase if he doesn't have the install receipt.

Did he buy the parts online or local. Either way somebody will have a receipt somewhere.

Forged pistons don't make more hp, they give the ability to add more boost and other power adders to do it safely without the engine exploding. You need forged connecting rods and crank too, as well as other parts for a complete, safe package for big power delivery.

Thank you all guys, that seems disappointed ! ether way it's seems difficult to confirm the parts with paperwork !

OK guys in worse cases what is gonna happen if I blow the engine, I mean if it's stock internals what is the most common things to break, pistons, rods or something else?

Let say i hit the 500whp !! the stock pistons well crank right ? if not, then the car has forged pistons ! is it like that ?

How can exactly is the RISK ?

Oh BTW i'll post up the VIN as soon as get to my car.

VIN means nothing. Most forged pistons make noise during cold start up. Does your engine sound noisy at startup and quiet when hot?

The risk is you'll be replacing the ENTIRE motor
