    Best options for Whipple build

Hey I need some opinions on whipple 2.3 build.

I was looking at the MMR Stroker 5.0 priced 4199 and Up... but I was wondering for almost 4500 I can do a whole lot with stock block or teskid. I can probably build a fully Forged teskid around 3,000 and have leftovers for headers or trickflow(if nessasary) But I have a Few ?s

Would stock Marauder block .20 or teskid .20 with Forged internals handle whipple w/e85?looking 650hp-700.
MMR block is cast iron it would be a plus if I can stick with Aluminum

Is it worth paying $1000 for upgrading stage 3 ported heads or should stock be fine (bang for buck?)

Is it worth paying 699 for upgrading to stage 3 cams? Or would stock do?

I'm kinda New to the DoHc world and just wondering what route you guys think would be best

    Thanks

Teksid blocks are a waste of money. A marauder block can handle any power you can throw at it.

Before we go any further, you wont make 650-700 with a 2.3, even with E85

Making 650rwhp will take 10,000 dollars. Are you ready to spend that coin?

If your stock motor is running right now, you can either mothball it or sell it for at least 1k.

The choice is yours, an iron block doesn't weight much more. 5.0 stroker or a big bore stroker if you can swing it.

Without looking at their website, I couldn't tell you what stages do what, I would recommend a mild port job and blower cams if that's the way your going to go on the build.

Regardless of what ever you choose, you will always be chasing horsepower, it seems to go with the territory.

FWIW, I am using a stock Marauder block, Eagle rods and crank, Diamond pistons, Crower cams and springs and a Trilogy twin screw, turned down to 521/526, with 93.

I think that there are limitations to anything, no matter the block or internals, if it's going to open the door and let itself out, it will.

    Good luck with your choice(s)...

Recommend starting with an Eaton Swap and upgrading to a Whipple later. It's my plan and I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. Learned a TON doing the swap and am still learning!

^^^ I should have joined this site before I bought mines. I would have done just that instead of collecting parts.
