I imagine the dealer could have just ordered them, center caps, and lug nuts but I am sure that it would have cost more than the HPP package back in the day. I have the analog gauges probably since it was not an LX. But the package came with a larger rear stabilizer bar, about 15 more horsepower, revised shocks, rear air suspension, and dual exhaust, not to mention a 3.55 rear. My '01 Sport has about 25 more horses than the 2000, but '01 was the first year for the PI heads. The Sport has a 3.27 rear, but it seems like the '00 is quicker to 70 than the Sport. I do believe at some point in the mid 2000's that the digital dash was not available on the CV's, but still available on the GM's. Believe it or not, but the '00 will out handle the '01 as well.
Nice read..spot on! I have a 1997 Grand Marquis LS with HPP package
(love the wheels) as my daily driver....won't leave home without it!

Here are few interior pics of randomness. I love the the ashtrays on the front bench panthers. Flush USB chargers (this is Griffin, but they're all made in china and look pretty similar) look almost stock. My bro was surprised when he pulled out the ashtray to plug a phone in like, "This has usb ports? When did this car come out? It has wood grain? Does that connect to the tape deck?" I mostly use this for my laptop, which can be charged via usb and has 24hr+ continuous use battery life.

I kept the cigarette lighter that came with the car, though. And when I was, um, appreciating the front bench and destroyed the ashtray door and had to order a new cupholder/ashtray/12v assembly from the police dept: I kept that lighter too. The lighters came in handy when I used one like a fridge magnet to pin some hand written direction to my phone mount.

    One last pic.

This is from an English Essay. I had to take a photo that represented a problem in my life. Then describe how I dealt with it.

When I bought the Grand Marquis, it froze the next week. After it froze my trunk leaked.

So I head to go through this whole thing where I got into the trunk and looked for leaks. Then I caulked it up. Then it still leaked, so I caulked up more stuff. And I had bro run a garden hose at it with me in the trunk. It seemed okay. Then it still leaked, just a little. So I took off my tail lights, made rtv gaskets on their washers, cleaned and caulked the car from the outside, sprayed some foamy leak seal stuff over the caulk, super-glued the tail lights tight, tightened everything back together, pulled the trunk carpet, cleaned the trunk carpet, sanded off a nickel patch of surface rust here and there, scuffed up my trunk paint, put down several layers of undercoat/bedliner just in case, and reassembled it all. And I talked about all of this tedium in excruciating detail.

Super boring for my non-car person teacher.

Then I sprung this as my photo for the essay.

    And finished it with:
PS. They're fine. Don't call the Police please. The teacher said she spat coffee everywhere. I asked good or bad way. She said both.
