    Largest Displacement from Mod Motor?

I'm just curious, like the title states, what is the largest realistic displacement from the Marauder's Aluminum block. When I say realistic I'm referring to biggest bore and stroke without drastic measures such as sleeving the block or black magic to stuff some outragously large throw crank in the bottom.

Tried googling it and searching and I keep getting 5.4 liter truck blocks and the 6.8 V10, etc. Just curious more than anything.

    Thanks for your time.

i believe the biggest you can get is 5.3L out of a 4.6 block

MMR's biggest 4.6 block is stroked and bored I think to 5.1

I could have sworn MMR was making 351 blocks at one point, maybe it was Livernois or VT?

OP was asking without sleeving. Even 5.3 seems high. 5.1 seems more reasonable.

You can stroke up to 5.0-298/302ci or go with a boss block iron (cheap) or aluminum (costly) which is a big bore true 5.0/302ci without sleeving.

I thought FastMerc's car was stroked to 5.3.

We're talking non-sleeved setups, like a normal stroker kit or big bore block.

    A 5.3 is a big bore stroker.

Can't do much bore on a stock block without sleeving. But easy to get to 5.0 with a stroker.

My original engine build was going to be a 5.1 big bore running 11:1 CR using the Boss50 5.0 iron block. Came across a forged 4.6 longblock that was running 11:1 CR, already had cobra intake cams and head work done to it.

Stroker is good for mid rpms and running a turbo. High rpms for a stroker can be problematic. Decent hp power bump.

Big bore will retain the stock stroke but just be moving more bore, good for all rpm ranges which the 32v mod motor is more of a mid-high rpm range power producer. Plus big bores will create more torque than a stroker, and we all know hp is a product of tq.

If cost of stroking is $1K (a guess) and HP gain is say 6% (about 15RWHP) then this mod comes at $67/HP. IMHO, there are other most cost efficient mods.

Thanks for the info everyone. I don't have any grand plans or anything. Just curious for the info. About to turn over 206,000 miles on the MM and, God forbid, I need to repair, replace, rebuild the engine, just like to have an option or two of info.
