The Worst Things You Can Say To A Car Guy

“When you can’t make them see the light, make them feel the heat.”
    Ronald Regan

"The only way to deal with the Islamic State - these blood thirsty, blood-drunken, terrorists -
is to kill them, keep on killing them, until you kill the last one, then you kill his pet goat."

    Lt. Colonel Ralph Peters

“Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet.”
"I come in peace. I didn't bring artillery. But I'm pleading with you, with tears in my eyes, if you **** with me, I'll kill you all"
    General James Mattis

I can relate to all but #1. I usually get "nice Crown Vic!" or "is that a cop car?"

^^^^ I actually gotten used to the is that a cop car. I just had them Google FHP Marauder and changed the subject. My Ultimate boiling point is #3. Nothing pisses me off more than ppl that think of a ding or small scratch as no big deal. I had a guy hit my car at low speed, scuffed the rear bumper, and got mad when I called the police so I can get a case number for the insurance company and got even more upset when I rejected his pathetic $100 I screwed up cash offer. His insurance company got pissed when they found out the cost of a MM bumper cover. The dealer was able to just repaint the entire bumper for $400 ish and I had a rental for 3 days. Ppl still think we're living in the 70s. Modern cars are expensive to repair minor damage and folks are still unaware.

I like the horsepower question. You can probably say anything that pops into your head, because the average person has NO frame of reference for this, other than an ad that he saw last year and remembers wrong.

If you're a lifter, it's like someone asking how much you can lift - the average non-lifter is equally impressed by "I bench 200 pounds !" (Wow !) as if you said "I bench about two thousand." (Wow !)

I get " This is the police version, right" as a statement of fact from people. Depending on who is asking I'll either correct them or school them. Most people are surprised when they learn the MM is good for 24mpg.

I don't know guys, seems the older the car gets the more and more people actually know what it is around here. I can honestly say I get a street light conversation or at least a thumbs up every day I drive it.

Look in the vendor section, Marauder Innovations I think. Everything you need to now is there.

I get that as well occasionally but that's because people here think I'm driving an ex FBI vehicle, I've stopped counting how many times I've heard this line now and I'm actually getting sick of it to the point where I can't be bothered to explain it anymore and just nod.
