    Getting the exhaust done tomorrow.

Finally after 5 years, my cherry bomb vortex mufflers are blown out. The internal rattling has made the car embarrassing to drive. Tomorrow I have a appointment for a new mid pipe, mufflers, and to have my 4" tips installed. I'm looking Flowmaster 40 series to quiet down the LT headers a bit. I'll have to see whats offered. Sound clip and pics to follow.

I would stay away from Flowmasters and go with Dynomax. They are a little bit quieter but they will outlast a flowmaster 2 to 1.

I put brand new flowmasters on my Mustang and stored my car one winter in a non-heated garage and took my car out (less then 3 months later) and the Flowmasters had rusted through. I called them up and they basically said that I should expect that because I live in Chicago and they would not warranty them. No problem -I will never buy another product from them again.

I tell everyone that if you store your car in the winter and dont live in a Southern or Western State I would not buy them because they wont stand behind their warranty.

I replaced the Flowmasters with Dynomax and they lasted for 4 years. They sounded almost the same and actually got a little bit louder when they broke in. Just my .02.

    Good Luck.

American muffler in Westbury. He offers several brands, I'll see what he got and make a choice. Thanks for the info on Flowmaster.

Go mandrel stainless. I really like my muffled X pipe in the mid section -- can you tell?
If you want quiet Dynomax Super Turbos - or perhaps that new Dynomax VT muffler.

No way will I go with aeros. My mufflers are so blown out that I'm basically running open pipes with a annoying rattle at low rpms and cruising. The noise is too much for my liking right now. I'll see what this place offers and I'll likely stick with a H pipe since I'm a big fan of the classic muscle car sound.

Can't wait to hear it with those headers...whatever you choose.

There used to be an American Muffler on Hempstead Tpke in Franklin Square. Maybe a little closer for you? Good luck!

    Great!

Let's hear the final setup - This is my "Summer Mod" project and I can't decide on the muffler (will install the 4" tips and have rear cats removed).

I want greater "presence" when on the road but, from what I've heard, don't want the "Aero" sound.

Can you let me know what you're being charged for the work and parts?

    PM me if you'd like.

    Thanks,

    Mark

Still very happy with the Ford Dual Modes - after they broke in. Not sure if you car find them anymore though.

Everyone? lol I have seen two people who have removed them only cause they were too loud for their taste. Having them with stock piping will have some drone, increased mid-pipe and over axle piping really lessens the drone.

They also make a resonated version of the Aero muffler
