    Winter Tire Ideas???

Hey Maruader Team, I just picked up and 03, and im wondering what should I do for tires and wheels for the winter? I was wondering if I should run 16's all steel wheels (cop rims and tires)? I dont want to put the original wheel and tires through the salt and snow. Could someone drop some nuggets please?

    Thanks:-)

I run 16 cvpi steelies and Winterforce M+S for winter.

235/70-16 Front and 255/70-16 Rear. If you have traction control you'll need a larger tire on the rear. If you don't have traction control you can go with same size all around.

16's and Pirelli Scorpions. Car is parked but in a pinch the Pirell's work well.

I run the same size as ctrlraven and it definetly lifts the car up off the ground some, so should help with clearance...plus its easier to get in and out of! lol They kinda look like truck tires, but not all that bad IMO. I am running General Altimax Artics, they are studdable but I decided not to stud them....we'll see if I regret that decision.

16" steelies with 225-60R16 and 235-70R16. Hankook i-pike in the front and Yokohama Geolander i/T back, currently. They tend to wear out at different rates so I end up with whatever's available at the time and they seem to switch between car sizes front, and truck sizes, rear, so nothing seems to match.

    My winter wheel setup:
    215/65/16 Front
    225/70/16 Rear
    Nokian WR-G2 SUV all around
    Aluminum rims from 2005 MGM

Imho, steel wheels look really bad on these cars. For the same money but a bit more effort, any aluminum rims look better. Or full hubcaps I suppose, r better than the dogdish ca

I've got the same set up. Works great and looks better than steel rims. And I payed IIRC $125 shipped for my GM rims off eBay almost 3 years ago. Bought Hankook snow tires.

I just put on the Winter Wheels with Hankook i-pike (staggered fitmernt -- 215 R16 in front and 225 R16 in rear). Drove them up I-95 Sat. eve and like them -- no issues and no ABS/TC lights. Have another set to put on wife's Blue MM.

Thanks for replies to all, but specifically speaking what alluminum alloy wheels? and where? I must do something rather quick. I agree the steel wheels bring the cars image down.
