    The weight of the bumper cover causes it to sag. There is the real bumper underneath it that is rectangular shaped and when the bumper sags the corners cause the bumps. Just go outside and grab under the cover and pull up on it and you will see how much play there is. That is why I think a closed cell foam insert will hold the bumper up but still give way in a crash. It will also stiffen up that cover and help it hold its shape.

    Super easy. The ProGard is between the bumper cover and the brackets. There is a pretty good bit of overlap. Open up the gap between them and squirt a bunch of RTV in it. Get a floor jack or wooden blocks, anything to push up on the center of the bumper cover. Leave it overnight for the RTV to cure. Worked for me.

    You have a great idea there. It looks like this is something that just gets worse with age. I'll look at rounding the bumper support off at the corners or developing a contoured overlay for it. Another item for my "In Basket."
