    Torque Converter

Hey guys, me again. I am wondering what torque converter upgrades you fellas have done. Right now I have the stock unit in the car. I have heard guys from CVN putting upwards of 3200 rpm units in their cars. I spoke to a guy at Mo's Speed Shop and he recommended 2500. Something about how "these heavier cars stall at higher speeds."

I ask you guys, well, because once the new engine is in the car, it's going to be kind of a poor man's Marauder.

Have a PI 3500 stall installed for over 8 years. Love it!

Stalls are more so for centri or turbo guys not to say you can't put one in, it's just the PD blower come on real hard down low and on the street all ya do is spin!

Some will disagree and some won't.

Stock torque converters have their limits , even with a Whipple i would go with a 2600rpm stall converter.

These mod motors sweet spot is 3500 and higher. Putting a high stall converter gets the engine to its peak horsepower ASAP and your off

Even a NA marauder motor would benefit from adding a 3500 stall, 60 foots would drop drastically at the track

Even with a 3000-3500 stall, with normal driving, the engine will rev higher than a stock converter, but it's not going to be 3000-3500 at light pedal driving, it'll be like 2000-2500 depends on converter

I daily drove a precision industries 3800 stall in a turbo regal, car still got 20 plus mpg and was fun fun fun at stop lights. Once locked up on the highway it was like a stock converter

    Get a 3000-3500. Enjoy it

    I've got a P.I. 3000 but if I had it to do again I think I'd go with a 3500.
I'd do a 3500 especially if you don't have 4.10's. but if you're not used to a high stall converter on the street it might take some getting used to.
I love the instant into the power range feel.
    (just sayin).

Hmmm All good suggestions, but I am HIGHLY doubtful I'll ever see a drag strip.
