    Bye Bye 4r70w!

I have been gone for a while thanks to an insane work schedule, but I return with exciting news!

While I was away I picked up a TKO500 and most of the necessary bits to get it in my CV! I have done a ton of digging on CV.net and I am relatively well sorted... I think.

This weekend I am taking my pedals to my local speedshop for sandblasting, fabrication, paint and reassembly. Probably the most involved part of the process. Also going to reinforce the firewall where it mounts while I'm at it!

It's looking like next weekend will be the start of the teardown...

I am a little nervous as I have never has a chance to talk to someone who has done this, it seems like they are all on CV.net, and still no luck getting an account on that front. Anyone on here have experience or insight on this swap? Any input at all would be appreciated!

Thank you, T56 is close enough specs to mine from what I've read. I'll be in touch!

Justbob's 6060 is a whole different animal from the TKO, thanks for the contact Bob!

Do you know if the MGM and Marauder crossmembers are the same? Not sure which one my CV would have. Either way, what did you have to do to get the crossmember ready to accept the trans?

Also outside of the yoke, did you modify your driveshaft?

    Thanks!

Any threads, or pics for your swaps? Seems an easy job for you since you've done both the Marauder and Marquis.

Tomorrow I am headed out to MPS Speedshop and I will be trying my hand at sandblasting for the first time. After that I will be getting the GT pedals cut down then doing clamped-together test fits in the car. I will be leaving the welding to Brian, the pro at MPS as I want these to be STRONG! Not a good place for me to practice amateur welding. We will also be getting the firewall reinforcement in place as I've read that can sometimes be an issue.

The 04 CVPI pedal assy. I pulled out at the junkyard...

And how it sits now after wire brushing and disassembly (alongside the GT pedals)

More updates and pictures to come, let me know if there are any other pics you would like to see!

Got some pictures of the pedal assembly coming together.

Remember the rusty pedals from before? I spent some time at the sandblaster...

Lots of measuring and checking before tack welding, re measuring, re checking, then finally welding the heck out of the sucker

    Got some paint on it...

I am trying to get relatively close to how my old Bullitt's pedals were set up, as I loved the way those felt. Thanks to my brother and some handy reference from his Mach 1 I think I can get pretty close.

Mocked it all up in the car to measure where to modify the pedal arms.

Clutch arm will be shortened, brake pad will be replaced with a narrow one from the GT pedals, and I think I will be raising the gas pedal up to level it with the brake. I want to be able to heel+toe again!

Last of all, the first batch of the clutch bits arrived, now I am waiting on the flywheel and bellhousing bolts, then its time to start the big teardown...

More to come, sorry for the book, I will try and break it up a bit more if I can remember to!

Looks good. It's amazing how pedals can be built 100 different ways. It's nice to see other set ups.

Here's mine. I wanted to retain the adjustable pedals even though I haven't touched it since '04.. 10,000 miles so far.
