New price: $8500 firm - no less.
Well, the time has come to sell the Marauder...we have loved it but, financially the car doesn't make sense for us any longer. Here are the details from my craigslist ad:
Up for sale is a very clean 2003 Mercury Marauder with 163,000 miles. Engine was rebuilt at 140k miles. Interior is excellent and paint is very nice for a 10 year old car. Very nicely upgraded with well over 500 horsepower but still gets 21 mpg on the highway. Everything works and the car has been meticulously maintained - synthetic oil changes every 3000 miles and regular transmission and radiator flushes. Very reliable and passes smog every time. Below is the list of Modifications and upgrades. There is a lot of room to "grow" in this combination - the parts installed will support a lot more horsepower if desired.
Vortech V-2 T Trim Supercharger (10-11 psi of boost)
Vortech "Aftercooler" water to air intercooler system with upgraded heat exchanger and pump
custom tunes for 91 and 93 octane - made 415 rwhp on the 91 tune without functioning intercooler
3000 RPM stall Precision Industries torque converter (very streetable)
4.10 gears and factory posi
Dynatech aluminum driveshaft
brand new Aeromotive 340 fuel pump
39 lb fuel injectors
SCT BA2400 mass airflow sensor
2.5 mid pipes (factory catalytic converters are installed)
flowmaster mufflers
"head cooling mod" has been done
very rare light color interior - most of these cars came with charcoal interior
The bad:
- abs light comes on - likely a dirty or malfunctioning wheel sensor
- rear tires are usable but the tread is getting low
- the timing chain makes noise at idle once the car is warmed up...been like this for at least 10k miles and others seem to have the same issue. I've had several pro mechanics and shops listen to it and all agree on the cause.
update on 4/1/14 - Rock bottom price is $8500. Firm. Any less, I'll keep it and fix the issues.
I can get more pics as needed to anyone interested.
