    Spare does not fit saga

My new MM had a front flat on day 2. I pulled it but could not find a problem. Got out the steelie spare but it hit the brake caliper. Is this normal? Did PO upgrade brakes?

I went back to tire and saw bubbles coming from a sweat bead! Good luck for me as the sweat of my brow saved the day. One plug later and the tire held up until my order came in at Discount Tire.

What to do? I want/need a spare that fits the front. Thinking about buying a cheap alloy wheel/tire combo. I would rather go into limp home mode if a problem occurs because the alternative is tow truck.

    Is there a better strategy?

Marauders only ever came with full size or spun aluminum mini spares. Suspect that the spare is not actually a steelie or is the wrong spare.

Otherwise, you can always take a rear wheel off and put it on the front and put the spare on the back to limp yourself to a garage, but it would prob be pretty weird and can cause damage so limit your distance of driving.
I eat apples until my stomach feels much more full than its normal.

    Sorry for confusion. "PO"="previous owner".

The steel wheel does not have enough offset from studs and it hugs the brake caliper. A half inch spacer looks like it would work but that would leave precious few threads on lug nuts.

Sorry also for no pictures but the fact remains that the steel wheel will not work.

You either have modified front brakes or the wrong spare tire....

My "steelie" spare fits just fine on my MM with stock front brakes

buy a marauder wheel and make that a spare, aka full size spare, previous owner either put wildwood brakes or baer brakes on it (can you read either of those names on the caliper?) Idf so, then the supersaver spare will NOT fit. plenty of rims for sale here on this site.

Are you sure you put the spare wheel on with the correct side facing out?

My original spare tire on my 2004 Marauder is a compact steel rim tire size t155-80d/18. No aluminum rim. Never removed it from the car so I can't say it fits but I just ordered a rim/tire compact spare from eBay. I will check fit as soon as it arrives and report back. I need it to replace full size tire in a used 2004 Marauder I purchased last year. Important note: size matters! OEM size tires are on both Marauders front and rear!
