alright if you want the radio that i have (which i believe is the best one ford makes that will just plug into the marauder) you have to look for this part number

and here is the mach 300 and audiophile next to each other.

they are a little hard to find but i think its worth it. i think it sounds better then the stock unit. any other questions feel free to ask...

    HI,
Do you have pictures of the back of the radios? All the plugs are the same but just in different locations on the back versus the stock 03 marauder radio? Also, the model number you have listed is very close to a radio I looked at except the last two letters are DD versus your FD. Do you know what the difference is? Sorry for all the questions.

the 6l8t-18c815-DD does not have a subwoofer out and uses the older ford radio plug. the marauder has the new(er) "world plug II" i think thats what ford calls them.

    that shows the difference.

the 6l8t-18c815-FD also has a more powerful amp 190watts i think. they are kinda hard to find.. but there are a few on ebay from time to time.

incase anyone wanted to see the mach 300 in the SHO. thought some might be interested.

The Mach 300 that I have does not play mp3's

The sub works ( it has 3 connectors at the back 1 of them is for the sub)

And also get one that has the SAT button that way you can hook up your mp3 player / iPOD via a AUX input converter.

    Escape radio

Recieved an Escape radio from my son and did the swap in a few minutes. Works great with better sound. Highly recomended if your radio is acting up. Now what simple fix for a speaker upgrade have you found.

Wouldn't the Escape head unit (left) require the housing to be shaved since it is not shaped like the Marauder head unit (right)?

I just installed a single-din JVC KD-AVX77 due to the fact that the installer would have had to shave the housing in order for a double-din to fit. If I can avoid altering the housing, I will definitely look into this head unit!

nope the opening is the same as the one on the left. if i remember correctly the stock marauder unit is just like the one on the left but with the plugs like the one on the right. the one on the right is acutally from a 98-99ish i believe.

Cool. I guess to avoid shaving anything, this would be my best option. I hate the way my JVC single din looks.

Sooooo, I just ordered a 6l8t-18c815-fd from e-bay. Does anyone know which specific PIE or other I-pod adapter works with this unit (2005 escape)?
    How does it connect?
Anyone actually use one of these adaptors with an IPOD?
