From what I read, it's a faulty relay inside a module

Fastblackmerc can rebuild it for you, here is where and what it does

Yes I do fix them... but it may not be your LCM that is causing the problem with the automatic feature.

BTW..... If you buy a new LCM from Ford it will still have the same crappy relays inside so it's just a matter of time until it goes "tits up" again.

My repaired LCMs has an external 40A relay and the three remaining internal relays are upgrade from 10A to 15A.

Comes with a life of the vehicle warranty.

Had one repaired by FBM this past year, quick turn around, first rate work. Don't buy a new one, have him fix yours. Thanks again.

Don't even think of having Ford touch the LCM. Those guys wanted $ 1300 ($ 600 parts & $ 700 labor). The four screws holding the LCM to the firewall cost $ 700 to unscrew and rescrew?????
The only screwing is on you buying another crappy Ford part.

I sent my LCM to Jim (FastBlackMerc) and he repaired it and had it back to me within a week. Forget Ford, send it to Jim.

When your car turns on the automatic headlight all the time as soon as you turn on the car weather is sun light or not, is commonly an issue with your wiper module. Have you been having issues with your wipers lately?
you see, the wipers have a feature that if you turn them on for some period of time they will turn on your headlights automaticly. when the module is bad it messes with the headlight system making the LCM to think they're on. I discovered this. this could be you.

Two screws & 3 electrical connections. Located in side the car to the right of the steering column.

I had trouble with the lights staying on in my 03 Grand Marquis. It turned out to be a bad SENTINEL SENSOR Part # YF1Z 13A018 AA. The part is the same on the Marauder.

This module is the red light that flashes on top of the dash when the anti theft is on.

    My Symptoms were:
    1. During operation the lights stayed on, even in auto mode. Had to manually switch them off.
    2. When turning the windshield wipers on/off had no effect on lights during rain.
    3. Night or Day lights were on in auto mode, again had to manually switch off.
    4. The lighting control module had been replaced under warranty within the past year.

    Sorry for the newb question

It was raining the other day when I went to start my marauder. I don't use the auto headlights. Kept the wipers going for about 20 seconds and looked down and my instrumentation lights were on, indicating the headlights were on during the day
My headlight switch was in the off position

All seems good so far, I just don't know the lights come on so soon using the wipers

So wipers on 20 seconds turn the lights on with light switch in off position?

That's what it's supposed to do. Which is nice if the wipers are on there usually is a visibility issue anyways. But most states require headlights to be on when the wipers are on. So you don't have to worry about it.
