    ratchet or stock tensioners

Just took the timing cover off and noticed I have ratchet tensioners , I have almost 150,000 smiles . I don't know when was the last installation? so do I stick with ratchet tensioners or use stock .

I prefer the older metal, ratchet type. That's what I put in my engine. The original plastic tensioners don't seem to be as durable and aren't as much protection to an older engine at startup.

    Metal ratchet type.

Had mine replaced this past spring.

Rock Auto sells the metal ones but they are not listed under the Marauder. Search under 2004 Ford Mustang 4.6 SOHC.
