Had the on my SVT Focus they were junk. I really like the Nitto nt555's, I the have them now on my MM. Plus they have oem size frounts and the rear you can use p265/50r18 which is the widest you can safly fit on a oem rim and not upset the traction control

I run Continental, 285/50/18's UHP Cross Contact, & they have better numbers than the OEM.

I don't really know the answer to this since I went from running snow tires to running 285/50's. (I bought the car in December '08).

I suspect I'm losing maybe a tenth with the bigger tires, but I don't really care. I like the look, and either way, I have a 14-second car.

Handling is fine, but again I am comparing it to running a Marauder with snow tires.

The extreme is a great tire but it's been discontinued and replaced with the Extreme DWS and if it's as good as the old version go for it.

In my experience Continental tires are more of the touring-type tires, not really performance tires.
    Could be wrong, though, ymmv

Yes sir they have the oem 235/50r18 for the fronts. For people with modified rear rims they have 295/45r18. For the people on unmodified rims you can use 265/50r18. best of all running ether combo is traction control friendly.

I run 295/45-18s on non-widened MM wheels. I have over 30k on these tires and never had a traction control problem. I also keep the air pressure at 40lbs.

Call 1-800-FORD-788 and press "1". Have the last 6 of your VIN handy. You will get the numbers for FREE. You'll pay $$$ for the certificate.

MM traded in 8/9/13 @ 128909 miles. It was fun for almost 8 years. I met airmercpun on 1/17/14. He was the new owner of my former ride. -Now gone.

Update: back in the game with a late build 03 GMGS with some MM add ons like Escape audiophile radio w/Sirius sat radio, rear sway bar, catback exhaust, and header panel.

See my garage file for part numbers and whatnot.

IMHO, this site- the members that I chat with- and the ones that I now Hang with- are like my 2nd family. There is such an ongoing welcome feeling here that even members who don't or no longer own the MM can feel.

I know alot of people do, I have that tire but on widened rims. I stated that 265/50r18 is the widest you can safely run because that's what Nitto suggest for a 8in wheel in a 28 inch tall tire. If someone wants to run a 295/45r18 on a non-widened MM wheels they need to research that and make there own call, but I don't think anyone has reported a failure with that tire on a 8in rim.

I know of a few people who run 285's & 295's on the stock rims . None of them have ever had a problem. But then again it's a personal call. Each tire company rates their own tires so you might get different information from different companys.

I noticed that the grooves are not a deep on the tread pattern as the bf'gees. An if their are so much special whats the life expectance on the nittos?
